Poker players

Poker has gotten really big in the past few years because of the world series of poker. I've gotten pretty good watching all the pros on TV and playing plenty of play money games online. I'm not a addict or anything .. yet. But of course I dream about going pro and entering the WSOP events one day (after I have a steady job which can afford the buy in).

Recently I started getting into some real money games with some success. I usually enter into cheap tourney games on pacific poker for like $2+.25 bucks, eventually I'll win one and make up for my couple past losses. I'm a pretty tight player all around and rarely get beat on the hands I play.

So lets have a roll call of poker players. Tell us about your favorite game type and where you play (online or real life). Maybe we could even organize a weekly game or something for play money somewhere. I have an account at party poker which I use for play money games to sharpen my skills, We could use pacific poker too.

Hold 'Em is probably my favorite because I play it the most since it's the most popular game and easiest to get a seat in. I play Stud and Omaha occasionally too, to sharpen my skills. Those games usually take alot longer but they can be alot more interesting. maybe not as interesting as Razz though lol

usually hold 'em but i've been known to play omaha.

i have an account on party poker but i don't remember it... something like bb_elwood or bb.elwood or bbelwood... i don't like playing over the net though.

there have been a couple games in my dorm but the kids are all dumbshits and i dont think i could be around them for 4 hours without knocking some heads. although they'd be fun to gank out of some money. hmmm... i'll try that one of these days.

Hey, in case you guys are interested I am currently working at a poker site that a sportsbook introduced. This is the link for the site: Guardian. It might be better to play there, if you are interested, cause I am on the other end and I'll take good care of you guys with what I can...

P.S. My favs are hold em', Omaha, & 7 card stud....

uhm.. anyone played punishment poker? I played it in school today, kinda painful game. This is how it works: first you play a round of ordinary poker. The loser is the one that gets punished. You mix all the cards and the players, except the loser drags a card, one at a time. There are four different punsihments, one for each color and the higher the number the more pain. You drag a card until king of heart comes up and then play from the begining. ARGH THE PAIN!!!!!!!

I play sometimes when im bored but im an idiot. I dont even know the games i play either. My brother is a huge poker fan though and he constantly plays some internet thing called Paradis poker.

Its the gambling that makes it skill...mostly....
Much skill in the whole bluffing and calling bluffs.

i play texas holdem regulary with a bunch of my friends, most of our tournaments go for like 24 hours which is pretty crazy,
ive never won though.

Cool I added you to my buddy list & IM list. My nick is bothil on PartyP. I most likely won't be on there today though. I just signed up for a free-roll (real money) special 1500 player no limit hold 'em tourney @ pacific poker.

I consider my self to be a really good player for my age. This tourney is invaluable experience so I hope I can make it to the prizes =) I'm studying up with lederer's video right now. I start in 7 minutes, wish me luck. welp that didn't take too long, got 488th place = taken out by pocket queens on a huge pot.

I don't play that often, maybe once a week, but i consider myself really good. When i play i like to go all in to mess with people(on no limit, when i got a good hand). But thats only when i am joking i am really loose with my chips and i play my hands well, i don't bluff to often tho just when i kind of notice the other person uncomfortable(taking a while to decide if there in).

Hesitation is part of my betting strategy...I've always known the power of patients in poker. I've won so many times by giving off false weakness during heads up =)
