Have fun taking protein supplements for the rest of your life? Honestly, I'm not trying to bash vegans or vegetarians, but it honestly isn't that big of a deal. People who are vegetarians or vegans should only do it for themselves, not for the "greater good". Cause in the end, it really doesn't make that much of a difference. That mean said, I've tried a vegetarian burger before, and it was quite good.

I've been a vegetarian for about 25 years now. I don't plan on giving up my cheese or ice cream any time soon!

2 years vegetarian here, not that I'm much of a regular, though. I don't really get the point of this thread, but I'll just chime in to say... AmazeO, why should anyone bother to vote or recycle? The thing is that individual actions are important, not because a single person will change the world, but because communities of single people will. Nothing gets done without the actions of individuals, and every person does actually count. You get enough people to stop fighting and you can rout an entire army, also. The only time I've ever had to take protein supplements was when I was strength training and tearing my muscles apart to gain weight. I would have taken supplements regardless of diet. There are many protein-rich foods that aren't made of animals. Soy, quinoa, whole grains, mushrooms, nuts and seeds, and milk products and egg products if you're lacto-ovo, to name the more prominent ones. The only supplement that's really necessary is B-12. Edit: is that an Eno fan in the thread? I would also be vegan if it weren't for cheese. When I'm buying, though, I make sure it's organic, and if possible not factory farmed. It still isn't perfect, though. Funny thing is, supposedly cheese is terrible for you - to be more specific, casein is supposedly significantly carcinogenic. Needs more sciencing, though.

Yeah, but what exactly are vegetarians attempting to do? Say that eating animals is bad, and un-fair? You know just as well as I do that they will never ban meat. So, get over it.

Well if they bring the demand for meat down, not as many animals will be hurt/killed. But that's the problem. The demand for meat isn't down. The people who eat meat buy enough of it for no problem. I mean, I guess in the swing of things, less animals will be killed... but then again, we realize they are animals, we are ontop of the foodchain. Something to always remember, would a cow push you out of the way of an oncoming train? Would a cow fend off a mugger in an alley way for you? Exactly.

But that's the problem. The demand for meat isn't down. The people who eat meat buy enough of it for no problem. I mean, I guess in the swing of things, less animals will be killed... but then again, we realize they are animals, we are ontop of the foodchain. Wow, I'm surprised at how few positive responses you've gotten BenQ. Well, I'll add my post to even it out a bit. Been a vegetarian for about.....3, 4 years now? Man, I don't even remember. Best decision I ever made in my life. Now I'm curious to know who else is. Hopefully more will respond.

We were mean't to eat dogs, so by your logic we should eat dogs, as it only recently that they have been pets. In china they eat dogs, because they don't see them as pets, like we don't see pigs as pets. I think he doesn't want to be eaten.

I really don't know why I am not vegetarian. I don't even kill bugs when they are in my house. I set them free. I guess I just love meat too much.

I worked at McDonald's for five years and ate there for breakfast, lunch and dinner EVERY DAY. If I can do it, ANYONE can.
