You're definately going to want to do an RC after you try this. Open the page, and when the wheel starts rotating, stare at the center of it for about 30-60 seconds. Then look at your hand, or a book or something like that.

Speaking of illusions, does anyone like stereograms such as the ones found on eyetricks.com? I'm yet to find anyone but myself who knows how to "use" them....

I'm very good with stereograms. I can see the image in them within about 3 seconds. I couldn't see the pinwheel in this browser though.

EDIT: I changed my settings so that I could see it. Rather interesting, but I didn't notice too much of a change. Cool, none the less.

I don't know if this is true, but if you look closely (or whatever you want to call it: concentration, stability, etc.), you will see the primary colors of red, blue, and yellow.

Probably not.... but I do have good news, and it's got nothing to do with saving money on car insurance by switching to Geiko (you're lucky if you've never seen those commercials). I just found a better version that's made with flash, meaning the animation is smoother so the effect works better and longer after you stare at it.

You can get a free program that makes these things, and you can put whatever text or image you want into it. I forgot it's name though, but I did have alot of fun with it. (It really hurts your eyes after a while, you sorta have to go cross eyed and unfocused)

uh... you mean the pixels??

I used to have a little disk that had that kind of design on it that I could spin on a desk.. pretty cool stuff. The way that it works is all in how your brain interprets the contrary motion of the spirals. When you look away, your brain is still in that mindset and things kind of morph as your brain re-calibrates. The illusion really has nothing to do with you eyes, so it shouldn't do any damage.

It's like wearing convex lens glass (or is that concave? whichever inverts the image).. apparently in labs where subjects wore them non-stop for a month or so their vision corrected for the inversion and saw things normally. The thing is, when they took the glasses off, their vision was up-side down for a couple of days as their brain re-adjusted.
