Thread: What is my memory?

ok well i have a question about my memory...
i dont know if its photographic but ill try to explain...

well i have a very good memory...
almost everything i look at i can see in my head( almost like a dream ), but i cant seem to see small letters on an item that i see in my head.
its almost like a semi vivid dream... lol

but tell me what you think it is.......

Photographic memory hasn't truly been verified in the scientific sense. Doesn't mean it couldn't exist. We just don't know for sure. Now about these images you see in your head, what can you see? What have you memorized, and for how long a period of time do you retain these images? Are these images very vivid?

ive been able to see them as long as i can remember, for what i memorized well umm idk my grandparents died like 4 years ago and i can still see everything in the house as it was the day i last saw them..., then there are things like were i put my keys or something... i dont really know how to explain it, i can basicly just take a photo with my mind?.... as for how vivid....umm i like to say its as vivid as a dream? i dont know its hard to explain ... its almost like taking a picture, but it being a little faded out not a lot but just a little. lol really hard to explain but i hope that helped

You're scrambling for ways to describe it and you're kinda exaggerating. I have a photographic memory as well. Basically everything I've heard, seen, or overall experienced that stands out to me can be recalled in my thoughts within a second. I can describe stories of myself to other people four years after they've happened as well as I could the next day. My mom always used to get mad at me because whenever I'd tell stories they'd be so intricate and detailed that they'd go on forever.

It was weird, I thought people thought like I did up until a little while ago when my friend told me that my stories are always so detailed and well recalled. I said, "Yeah, I have a photographic memory. Doesn't everyone think like that?" Guess not hahaha.
