      I'm working on it.
By the way, this will take a few days. I've been meaning to elucidate my thoughts for some time purely for my own interest, but being the manager of three large plants - a hibiscus, a geranium and a venus fly-trap; as well as Chair of a dining room suite and owner of several large oil cans, time is scarce. As are good Coldplay songs.

I understand where you're coming from, definitely.. but you know, it's not about being sorry. It doesn't matter if you laugh at dying animals and if you don't give money to charity. What matters is acting in a way that is beyond our own self interest...who gives a shit about feelings?

Actually I can't be arsed. I started writing it and it's just depressing the hell out of me. I know that it doesn't matter whether it's intelligent and coherent or not, people are just going to ignore it if it doesn't suit them. I might write it properly one day and submit it to one of the two decent journals left in the world.

You know what? I think you should still write it down. Don't make it too deep if you don't feel like it, but just point out the major things you've got in mind. Even if some people overlook it, some also won't. Who cares what people think... Nothing but good things can come out of it anyway.

It's important for people to realize these things. Do your part to help...educate them. You can do it!

      Hullo again!

Thanks for your interest. I started writing it a few days ago but I’m going to put it on my web page, one issue at a time, and probably submit a summary to one of the aforementioned journals.

The internet really isn’t the place to debate serious issues. It’s like having a drunken argument in a pub. Research consists of finding the best pre-written arguments on Google and wikipedia. As soon as one of the debaters gets backed into a corner and has no answer, instead of reconsidering their opinion they will simply abuse the other participant or accuse them of arrogance. That’s something I’ve never understood – criticising or abusing someone else just for having a different opinion; or accusing them of arrogance simply for expressing their opinion with equal conviction to oneself.

I can’t see what that kind of debate is going to achieve. If anything, it will simply turn people off alternative views by associating them with hostile debate.

When we’re not talking face to face, we often forget that the person we’re debating is a real, well-intentioned human being with their own feelings.
