Hey I got rejected at a restaurant yesterday by this freaking smokin hot waitress. She said she was from Russia and she was 25. I asked her playfully if she had a sister and she said yeah but shes 20, and i thought to my self, what???? 20 is easy i can handle a 20 yr old. Well she had a russian accent so that pretty much sent it over the top for me she was so beautiful. I wrote my number down on the ticket and gave it to her and wrote "call me!" but when she brought back the change she passed it to the girl sitting next to me and said "Here, give this to the boy." |

You are seventeen. You are still a boy. I'm almost nineteen and I am still a boy. |

@ invader what do you mean by that |

Hercuflea, you are not old enough to legally be independent from your parent/guardian, vote, watch porn, get your own hotel room, drink alcohol (more than 3 years to go), or go skydiving without a guardian's signature. You have another 8 years before you can get your own condo on the beach in Florida. Most people your age are still in high school. You are a "kid" by the standard definition. That waitress knew that. In some states, she could go to prison for having sex with you. She doesn't want to go to prison, to get her picture on Fox News while O'Reilly tears her up, or to have somebody in your family coming after her with a shotgun. She is probably not into 17 year olds any way. When you are 25, you will understand. It was a rejection of your age, not you as a person. |

How do you know you are not dreaming right now?
Don't you people watch Weeds? It would be totally okay if she owned a cheese shop. |

If you have a sense of caring for others, you will manifest a kind of inner strength in spite of your own difficulties and problems. With this strength, your own problems will seem less significant and bothersome to you. By going beyond your own problems and taking care of others, you gain inner strength, self-confidence, courage, and a greater sense of calm.Dalai Lama
Haha I'm with ya. You wanna know something really weird though? I'm 19 and women in their mid 30's are always hitting on me. It's friggin weird. |

They say curiosity killed the cat...
Fortunately, I am not a cat.
I'm freakin' twenty and I'm still a boy. Or at least I feel as such. I think a lot of people feel like they're still kids up until they look in the mirror one day and start to see crow's feet and various other signs of aging (the lyrics to Dream On come to mind). |

"Take atheism, for example. Not a religion? Their pseudo-dogmatic will to convert others to their system of beliefs is eerily reminiscent of the very behavior they criticize in the religious."
Anyone who says "gtfo" on the internet is still a boy. |

Makes perfect sense, Mes. We're raising much more immature youth these days than in previous generations. Take for example the West, in the 1800's; boys sixteen years old were driving cattle hundreds of miles, carrying guns, and using them responsibly, because they had to in order to help put food on the table for their family. Nowadays, what responsibilities does the average sixteen year old have? Keeping up his or her grades and cooking supper on the nights his or her parents work late. |

When I was 17 I was playing senior soccer at a club near my house. Most of the guys on the team were in their mid 20s, some over 30 some a bit younger. We went to a club after a game, and the one guy's sister tagged along, with 3 or 4 of her friends. I was chatting to them, standing in this club surrounded by 4 or 5 hot girls, all at least 5 years or more older than me, feeling confident that these girls were hitting on me. |

When once you have tasted flight,
You will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward,
For there you have been,
And there you will always long to return
I once got with a 21-year old when I was seventeen at a staff party... lmao. Boo-yah-gah. |

Yeah but she could not possibly know what the level of my maturity is by simply knowing my age and nothing else about me. All she has to go by is the average teenage stereotype. I was just in a really good/playful mood that night and thats why I gave her my number/flirted etc. Yeah, i guess 17y/o boy with a 25 y/o probably wouldnt work, but i still hold my ground that she was the freakin hottest waitress i have ever seen |

You gotta also think, she probably gets hit on/flirted to a lot from people your age (and older for that matter), and if I was a smokin' hot waitress I would get pretty annoyed of getting hit on all the time. So it probably wasn't all you as much as it was being hit on a lot, at least, that's my thinking. |
