He is still stuck behind there, even though it has been 4 hours since he first entered.

I tapped on the painting and he came out, flew around the room for a bit, and then went back behind the painting. I guess he likes it there.

Is this a common thing? Do you ever get dragonflies in your house who stick themselves in weird positions?

Hmmz I've experienced Dradgonflies doing strange things. I sat in the garden once with my mom and a friend of her's. 2 Dragonflies showed up. Real big ones and they started flying really low over our heads. Then another one came. And another 3. And before we knew it the entire airspace above our garden was filled with dragonflies. Certainly more than 10 of them and they were all dive bombing us, flying over really low. We actually took shelter inside our house for a while. War of the Dragonflies?

Anyway they're beautyfull, albeit rather freaky, lifeforms.

It could be that the Dragonfly was strangely attracted to the painting: Maybe it's colors matched those of his food, or mating partner? Gee I've no idea.
