I'm no genius but I do know what shipping chocolate can do in a truck...the bars could possibly get warm, along with the plastic and the plastic leeches into the chocolate perhaps? |

I want to get to the bottom of this and I need your aid, since I have done a bit of comparison and found nothing, and am too lazy to dig further. |

I would rather die on my feet then to live on my knees.
Do you think plastic wrapped can be stored longer? |

I'm guessing that the chocolate shipped in plain plastic wrappers is simply of lower quality than the one shipped in foil. The almonds might disguise the taste of the lower quality chocolate, or that chocolate might be of better quality. |

April Ryan is my friend,
Every sorrow she can mend.
When i visit her dark realm,
Does it simply overwhelm.
I would say it's more like, the chemicals in the plastic melts off and into the chocolate, and that includes the glue holding the plastic together keeping it sealed. This would most likely happen only because the plastic is (if I remember the term correctly) a thermoplastic (plastic that can melt). Whereas foil and paper cannot melt. |

The only reason that that most logical explanation doesn't seem to work is that I despise almonds and eat around them or suck the chocolate off and then spit them out. The chocolate itself, though, will taste just like the regular bar from the foil/paper, for example if I nibble off the corner of the almond bar. As far as I can tell the two bars in the plastic wrapping are of the same age/same shipping length, and since they are chocolate and never melted presumably shipped in a relatively cool container/truck. Because of the seriousness of nut allergies, I've felt it safe to assume that the pure foiled/paper bars are not contaminated with nuts. |

Well, I think they make the chocolate different in the ones with nuts, I have noticed a difference in taste between non-nuts and nuts from the same brand. The reason for them making the chocolate differently is probably because of the way the chocolate needs to keep a hold of the nuts. |
