Okay. Well, the three women we met that had had babies when they were young were nice people. They said they felt really stupid for not using protection - they simply hadn't been educated about it. So, it's not their fault. I guess.

It was pretty much to all the girls like that. thats my view on them. call it generlisation if you will, but i know the type of people who are like that, i know them personally. there are exceptions, but from my personal experience, the girls like that mostly fill this quota:

dont go to school often, theyd rather skive.

have a huge attitude problem

smoke to be cool

take drugs often

and are whores.


Thats based on personal experience, dont go saying 'oh but not all people smoke to be cool' or anything because i know. i am just saying that there are a lot of people who fit the style of teenage mothers, and most of them fall into that catagory. so meh, generalisation. but its true in my experience, unfortunately. stereotyping or whatever, thats what theyre usually like.

Wow, I'm not even responding to that.

you should know that the post was made just so i can discuss something for a few days. im not really that much of an asshole.( but this is) just felt like causing a discussion. but the stereotype teenage mum really is like that, and i know so many of them that it cant be coincidence.

If you have a kid it is your fault (unless you are raped). Even if a comdom broke, it is still your fault. You should not have sex unless you know that you are ready. i wont untill atleast I get a 4 years degree.

I don't quite see how this makes her a whore, because as far as I can tell she did not get paid for it... What I don't like about it is this- (from her blog)

If she wanted to 'just have sex' then why not use a condom? She says how her school teaches sex ed, so it's not like she isn't educated about it. Her blog seems to have good spelling and grammar, and the way she talks gives the impression that she's smart, so then what's her excuse? How would the kids feel to grow up and read the blog to find out that the reason she was brought into the world is because her mother liked having sex?

I can understand if she is uneducated, if it runs in the family or if it was an accident or rape. But she seems like a smart kid, and from what she is saying I get the impression that it is one selfish act, that the babies to her are just like real live toys (you know the ones that u gotta change their nappies and everything.) In this way it seems pretty irresponsible to bring up two kids based on the argument that you like sex.

I know that you should not judge someone before you have walked a mile in their shoes, and it's kind of arrogant of me to judge her when I come from and easy, middle-class, Australian, peaceful lifestyle with the certainty of a future and that everything else in the world will eventually work out, and I am well educated. It doesn't make me angry, I just feel that it is selfish.

I know of some country towns around here where girls are so abandoned and uneducated that they deliberatley fall pregnant and start chain smoking to give the baby a low birth weight to make it an easy birth, all so they can claim single-mother benefits. I can't judge these people because I have been fortunate enough to escape living in a situation like that, and there are many reasons why this happens - social reasons that trap people. It's all too easy to preach moral values from rich, middle-class suburbia, but not all people can afford to have them.

if parents would talk to their kids about sex, and not allow them to run around all the time not knowing what/who they're doing, then it wouldn't happen. so yes, it IS the parents fault. the parents can have control over their kids until they reach the age of eighteen. wait does that say twelve? ...no, it doesn't, it says eighteen.

You know, it is a tremendious shame that this child was descrated in such an awful fashion. I know that she should not have had sex, and part of it is her fault, but a lot of it does lie with the parents. I'm not sure about anyone else here, but I was not the smartest twelve year old child. Although I never did anything like that, I made mistakes. Perhaps, if her parents had talked to her about such affairs, then she would have tried to steer clear of the whole ordeal. My parents always had a watchful eye on me, and always kept tabs on where I was. Although at times I thought they were smothering me, I look back and I am happy because I know that could have been me.......Parents influence children to a certain degree, and it sounds like there is something severly wrong at home. Children sometimes do things because of this. Anyway, it's a shame.
