      MSN Messenger

Okay, i want to download the new version of MSN Messenger. It says it's free, but right at the bottom in the small print it says that internet charges may apply.
What does this mean? i'm on Broadband, and it's paid monthly by subscription.
      Is it free?
What would they charge me for?
I don't want to download it in case they charge me for something i haven't asked for!

Don't worry, it's put there more or less to cover their asses unless some person lawsuits them, saying that they claimed it was "free" but it cost money (although it was just actually their usual internet subscrption). MSN Messenger costs absolutely nothing.

okay, this is about trying to save conversations in messenger. I've clicked the option that allows conversations to be saved automatically...found the filepath, no joy.
I've tried to view message history. No luck there either.
do i have to ask my other contact if i can save the conversation?
please help, as this is really buggin me.

If you right-click one of your contacts, there should be an option "open the message history" or something like that (I have a Finnish version). That will show you the conversations with that contact.

I tired that...and it says there is no message history, in spite of me telling it to automatically keep a history of conversations.

Oh, I didn't read your post that carefully. But you don't have to ask a permission from the other person. I got it work just by telling it to keep a history of conversations and setting the path where to store them. A friend of mine also had problems with Messenger's message history, but he couldn't get it to work. I don't know why.
