      5-htp...( SO dissapointed )

why didn't it work for me? I kept reading all these good reviews on how it gives you vivid dreams and it helps anxiety/depression, and insomnia.

it didn't even work for me....and this stuff is expensive.

Before i got the 5-htp i had been taking melatonin supplements ( 3mg ) which was working for me, i would go to bed everynight at 11p.m. and wake up to recall dreams..my dream recall was getting better and better. This was going on for like 3 days...

THEN i read about 5-htp and decide to try that since it works with seratonin as well. Last night instead of taking the melatonin I took a capsule of 5-htp ( 200mg ) 40 minutes before regular bed time ( 11p.m) and i couldn't even get to sleep...11:30 i was still woke, and pissed...so i took a melatonin ( 3mg ) and soon fell asleep.

I was disappointed to wake up and recall NO dreams at all...not even a single thing.

Maybe i should have taken the 5-htp an HOUR before bed time instead of 40 minutes? Since it was an hour with the melatonin??

This is so frustrating because my entire dream recall probably just went out of the fucking window.

Maybe i should just stick with the melatonin since it was working great for dream recall

Well 5-HTP by itself won't do much, but last night I used it in combination with 930 mg of Choline and got 3 WILD. This is coming off of a dry spell. I would have had fewer I think, but my brothers phone woke me up the second I got into the first one and then I had to redo it. Long story short, HTP works by using the rebound effect which drops you to deep sleep instead of REM, take it at bed time so it has time to get into your system, by the time you wake up for your WBTB, you'll be on REM rebound and then better set to attempt lucids. I hope this helps

Yea I'm going back to the melatonin only..it helps a lot with stress-related insomnia and it helps my dream recall

I can' t understand why 5-htp doesn't' work for me since it works with seratonin AND melatonin, but oh well, 17 bucks down the drain.
