      The Vitamin Store

      Greetings!

I am getting my dad to take me to the vitamin store down the street in a few days...

What do you guys recommend I get for boosting: Dream Recall, and dream vividness.

Recall is the most important to me, because it is what I need to work on the most IMO.

But basically I just want something that will help me the most. I have tried an Amino Acid Blend for about 1 month, all it did was increase my recall for 1 day, and other than that no results.

      Thanks!

I would take B6 and Tryptophan this creates serotonin which makes dreams more vivid and thus have better recall.
Also melatoine (spelling) for a REM rebound in the morning.

Can you become dependent on melatonin?

Also what dosages would recommend taking for these three substances? (B6, Tryptophan, and melatonin) I'm currently around 100-110lbs.

Both are relatively safe to use.

Melatonin won't cause and dependencies for the dosage you would take. For REM rebound, they recommend 3mg (and I've heard stories of people cutting those in half!).

For B6, you have to be careful. Prolonged overdoses of B6 can cause a temporary loss of feeling in your nerve endings (you'll get tingly feelings on your fingers). Don't take B6 for any longer than 2 or 3 days in a row.

I took 3mg of Melatonin and 200mg of B6 one night and had the most intense lucid dream of my life. 200mg is a big dose of B6 however, I would suggest maybe 100mg (i'm 190lbs).

And when I say overdose, I mean beyond recommended use, not LD50.

      Ok, thanks!

I am going to go get those three things within a few days.

As far as I know 100MG of b6 a night is fine, I myself take 60mg a night been taking it for a week and a half and I'm still good. (currently taking 70mg)

This is everything that I take a night

      70mg b6
      1400mg calcium
      600mg magnesium
      [i]These 3 are all in 2 pills)
0.5 to 3 mg of melatoine (I have these 0.1mg /pil pills so sometimes I don't feel like taking 30 of them so I take some less
      400mg of Tryptophan

      Oh one last thing!

When should I take these? Like at night, before I go to bed, at dinner?

From personal experience, B6 is going to wake you up. I would advise taking the melatonin shortly before going to bed.. maybe ~10 minutes, and take the B6 right as you go to bed (eat a little cheese prior or some other sources of tryptophan, like a bedtime snack before taking the pills).

Melatonin can go directly to your brain, so its going to act fast, but its going to die off in about an hour. You want to be starting to fall asleep (literally falling asleep, not getting into bed) as the melatonin kicks in. The B6 has to work with tryptophan to pass your blood-brain barrier, as seratonin cannot go directly to your brain. This will take some time to work, but its going to wake you up. I've taken 200mg of B6 an hour before bed with melatonin and have had really bad insomnia.. but once I did finally fall asleep, HOLY CRAP!

It'll take some experimenting to get the timing and doses right, as its different for everyone (B6 may not even give you insomnia). But basically, give the melatonin a head start.

      Thanks for the advice.

My friend (Mynden on Dreamviews) wanted to try the Amino Acid Blend I have, (which has b6) so we both took it, and went to sleep. I can sleep fine with it but he had problems getting to sleep.

So did you take the B6, tryptophan, and melatonin? If so, what were your results?

Due to a recent family event (My grandfather had to have open heart surgery) I couldn't get to vitamin store. I will make sure to post my results when I do get them in here.

      30 pills? That is insane

Aren't bigger pills (like 1.00 mg or even 2.00 mg)???? If I had to take 30 pills before going to bed, I would have a PIND (Pill induced Nightmare dream) were I would dream I am taking pills and more pills.

I never use these for LD, but I like to read this stuff. I think there is some food rich in melatoine. There is a thread around here with all this stuff and the cons and pros.

Yeah here in the Netherlands you can only get higher then 0.1 mg if you go to a doctor but I don't really have time to go atm so I take 10-30 of them.
I might go eventually to get a higher dosis because I had a talk with him and he said I should try to stop taking them for a while and see how you sleep so it wont be a placebo but without the pills I fall to sleep in 2-4 hours, so Im gonna get back to him before schools starts.
