I've been lurking on this forum for a couple years and have obtained tons of great information here. I figured it's time to start giving back to the community. Here is some info on the supplements I've been taking for a while to help with my lucid exploration.
I average a couple lucids a week varying in length, vividness and control. I don't take supplements every night but they do help when I do.
As many have said here, supplements are not the magic bullet. They are a tool and are used to augment other techniques. You cannot build a house with only a hammer.
The information below is based solely on my experience and will vary greatly from person to person.
Galantamine & Choline: This combo only works with WBTB and from what I understand, should not be taken on consecutive days. I only take it once per week at the most. I personally can only take one 4mg table due to the insomnia 8mg causes. Dreams, whether lucid or not are very vivid when this is taken.
Melatonin: This is a good supplement to take if you are having trouble sleeping or are trying to get over jet lag. Take it half an hour before bed. It causes a significant REM rebound and can sometimes cause insomnia after about 5 hours of sleep.
5-HTP: For me this works about the same as Melatonin only I don't feel as rested in the morning.
Huperzine A & Alpha GPC: I get the same effect with this as with the Galantamine/Choline combo. I also only take this once a week.
B6: Definitely increases vividness but can cause insomnia. I can only take 50mg. Take it before bed.
L-Theanine: This is a good sup for general stress / anti-anxiety. I always take it with my WBTB whether I'm combining it with Galantamine, Huperzine or nothing at all. It's also good to take before bed to help calm your mind.
