      Mushrooms and lucid dreaming

I've been lucid dreaming on and off for about 4 years, with very little success, and recently my attempts to LD have been pretty weak. I recently tried psilocybin mushrooms and fell in love with them. Recently I took an insanely large about (9+ grams of dried shrooms, ended up having a bad trip if you want to know) But the next night I had the most incredible dreams.

I started off having this strangely arousing dream, and I say strange because there was nothing sexual about the dream, but I woke up feeling as though I just had sex, I won't go into details of the dream here but I kept bouncing between the border of the dream world and the waking world, when ever I passed to the waking world I would get this feeling as if someone was shaking me like they were trying to wake me up, and when I slipped back into the dream I would feel as though I'm falling into an endless pit while at the same time I was walking around the dream normally. Both of these sensation were AMAZING. I awoke at the end of the dream recalling the entire thing in great detail, and I hadn't done anything lucid related in a while.

Once I fell back asleep I had an insane experience. I immediately became lucid upon entering the next dream. Normally my lucids are pretty unstable and I can hardly exert control, and I always loose lucidity by the end of the dream. Not this time, it as as clear as reality, and I had 100% control over everything, I was god. I could do anything for teleporting and flying, to spawning any person or object imaginable, to terraforming the entire universe. This dream felt as though it lasted several hours but I awoke and looked at my clock to discover I had only been asleep for 15 minutes.

I closed my eyes and immediately slipped back into the same dream, exactly how it started the first time allowing me to take it in a different direction. Once again I felt like it lasted for every but woke up 10-15 minutes later. This repeated about 20 times before I had to actually get up, and I awoke recalling every dream in complete detail, right down to every little emotion I felt.

I didn't write the dreams down right away, and about two hours or so after I got up I realized this and was worried I was going to forget them, but when I opened my journal to write them down I could sill vividly recall every single one.

Was this the result of the mushrooms or just some freak coincidence?

wow 9+ grams is alot of shrooms haha and sometimes after eating alot of mushrooms some aspects of your trip stay with you, its called HPPD. how recent was your trip? you sound trippy when you say you 'bounced' from dream world to real world and how you 'was god' in your dream. The dreams were still real but maybe why youre experience felt like seven hours is beacuse you were not!

OR... just MAYBE dreaming activity is located in the pineal gland (which holds your soul) and tripping (being very spiritual) ALSO affects the pineal gland, in a way it rubbed the dust off your spirit making your dreams fantastic!!

      ...maybe.

      9g dry? Man, you're a mushroom champ.

Yes, shrooms make subtle changes to the serotonin system and thus have an effect on sleep and dreams. The effect is temporary, but it may last several nights.

Its well known that the pineal glad contain all the precursors to DMT, which is found in trace amount in human and animal brains. there are alot of theories that dreams and even imagination could simply be the result of the pineal gland realeasing small ammounts DMT. It would certianly explain why psychedelic trips feel a lot like a dream

....i wonder if intake of DMT has any relation to dreaming, something like this could prove us that there is a relation between dreaming and the pineal gland.

      this calls for experiment!

OF COURSE DMT effects dreaming, it's a serotonergic drug! The serotonin system regulates sleep, and altering it can have huge effects on the content and vividness of dreams. This doesn't necessarily have anything to do with the pineal gland.
