      Lightbulb Auditory Assisted DILD

      Voice Recognition Method/First Lucid Dream

      Greetings,

If you look at my LD count, I have an astounding total of 2 LD’s; however, I have decided to recount how I achieved my first DILD, an experience which highlights a useful and unique DILD technique, which you can add to your LD repertoire. It is important to note that I have not practiced waking life DILD techniques before this point, so I will make a follow up post noting the effectiveness of this method with 2-3 weeks of focused practice. Consider this post a proof of concept.

I am sure a majority of teens have experienced “homework drowsiness,” the culminating force of boredom and poor sleep that suddenly grasps its victim upon doing homework on their bed. My first DILD was predicated on this drowsiness. The severe exhaustion hit me in a wave, and seeing I had time to spare, I decided to watch a Youtube video of a Markiplier Let’s Play as I fell asleep for a short 20 minute nap. Here are the highlights of this nap:

      1. I fall into dreamless sleep for 10-15 minutes. I recall no sounds, sensations or thoughts during this time, so it effectively passes in an instant.

      2. I start to hear noises after coming out of this dreamless state, possibly highlighting the onset of a deeper phase of sleep. The noises are garbled and twisted, constantly switching concepts and ideas, but I get the general sense that something is being discussed about kings, knights, and castles (I was not listening to a video about these topics, so I believe my dreaming mind was attempting to make sense of the noises I was hearing and filling in the gaps of what it couldn’t understand). There was no imagery associated with this noise.

      3. After listening to gibberish for about a minute I have a triggering thought: “Why am I hearing noises?” In an instant, my conscious mind activates and I realize I am hearing noises because I was listening to a Youtube video before I fell asleep. I have experienced waking SP once in my childhood and the sensation of my mind activating but being unable to move was very similar in this scenario. It was less terrifying this time around because I had done research on lucid dreaming and instantly had the goal of achieving lucidity. Both times I have gone lucid, I had an instantly noticeable change in alertness and my proprioception reactivated. I could feel the softness of my bed, the temperature of my surroundings, and I could make out what was being said in the Youtube video playing close by. I tried to flex my muscles and open my eyes, but it wouldn’t work, so I then allowed my mind to relax and fell out of consciousness with my surroundings.

      4. I naturally entered a lucid dream. I stopped sensing and hearing my surroundings entirely, and my proprioception deactivated. I didn’t choose the location, but I ended up in an empty walmart. I ran around on jelly like ground and vaulted over some obstacles, but my dream destabilized when I attempted to fly. I began to spin and see blinding white light, then darkness, and magically, I could open my eyes and my SP was gone.

The main point here is that the noises from the video helped me experience a DILD because they reminded me that I was dreaming and there was a reality outside of what I was currently experiencing. It’s a unique method I haven’t heard of before anywhere online, so I thought I would post my experience here in case anyone was interested.

      Thanks for reading!
