Does anyone have any past experiences with anti-histamines and lucid dreaming?'

I have to take this a lot the past few months because of crazy weather patterns and stuff.

Do tell if anyone has a say so in this.

Here's a recent topic regarding benadryl
      http://www.dreamviews.com/forum/inde...howtopic=43183

I've had one success with it out of 8-9 days I've been using it. Also I've had one scary experience where I was so deep asleep that I my arm got bent in a weird manner and I lost all feeling in it for a while... Pretty crazy - you wake up with someone's arm on top of you only to realize that it is your arm and you have no control over it...

The only Histamin-Dreaming experience I've had is with an Anti-Histamine called Promethazin(e). I don't know if it is the same substance as benadryl, but sold under another name or wether it is another anti-histamine product all together.

Promethazine is a Cough-Reliever, Muscle relaxant and Sleep inducing. VERY sleep inducing. Allthough it isn't a Hypnotic it sure does feel like a Hypnotic Sleep stupor-like sensation. I had the worst Insomnia once, 7 months with no or only about 4 hours of sleep a night. One night it just drove me mad, restless and rather hysterical that I couldn't get no rest. My mom gave me a little cup of Promethazine and it was like an ocean of Peace and Slowness Engulfed me. Quite intensely. But when I went off to sleep I went into a very deep comalike sleep.

So I'm worried if Anti-Histamines don't just make you sleep too deep and surpress Dreaming, REM-Sleep. Unfortunately I didn't really focus on what it did to my dreams so I can't be sure.

Maybe there'll be something on the effects on sleep Anti-Histamines have on www.erowid.org
