      Clary Sage Oil

I received a gift from a friend, called "The Lucid Dream Kit". Basically, it was a book about LD, an audio cassette (which I cannot use since I don't own a cassette player) and a small bottle of "Clary Sage Oil".

According to the book, I am supposed to apply some of this oil to specific positions in my face, for instance the "third eye", a point in my forehead between, and slightly above the eyes.

Has anyone ever tried using sage for inducing lucid dreams (or dreams in general)?

I have used the clary sage oil a couple of nights, but not had an LD. However, this morning I woke up around 5 o'clock, and applied some of this oil to my "third eye". When I eventually fell asleep, I had several short dreams between awakening. Everytime I woke up, I could just close my eyes again and start a new dream or fantasy.

So, is there anything to using this clary sage oil?

I think I got that same kit several years ago, but never used the oil. Didn't seem to need it.

I'd like to know exactly why someone thought it would help. Not saying it doesn't, but someone at some point must have just thought "Hey... let's try some Clary Sage Oil to see if it helps!" -- Seems kind of random to me.

LOL! I also bought this same kit years ago (my "Clary Sage Oil" has probably gone bad by now).

I believe they thought that you would associate the smell with lucid dreaming and that it would help prompt your subconscious or something. It didn't smell bad or anything.. I too just never used it.

I probably have you all topped for the amount of money wasted on something like this.

After reading about how different herbs can affect a persons ability to dream certain types of dreams I bought about $40 worth of bulk herbs from a place a while back.

Then I had my wife put all of these herbs in a pillow case and sew them up to make me a nice dream pillow.

About the only thing I can say about it is that is smells good, because it certainly has not seemed to affect my dreams.

I bet you can't! I've accumulated over 9 years of CRAP that supposedly helps with lucidity! :p
