      Hypnosis

I have been thinking recently of going to a hypnotist to increase my abilty to relax. Has anyone tried this, and if so, has it helped you achieve lucidity?

i went to one. we did only one session. i wanted that he give me suggestion that i will become lucid when i dream. i wasn’t satisfied how the things were going so i quit after one session. The main problem was because I wasn’t sure if I was really hypnotised, or just deeply relaxed.

It's easy to learn how to relax deeply, and hypnosis is not required. See my post in this thread.

^Cool...I'll check that out. I figure some hypnotists might have experience with, or at least knowledge of LD's, and those would be the ones to seek out if I decide to go that route.

I have been trying to use auto suggestions and self hypnotism lately. So the first thing I learned about self hypnotism is that you have to be in a deep state of relaxation, they call this trance. Your body is completely relaxed and your mind is alert. So I downloaded the program audacity. This program allows you to combine multiple audio files together and change the volume of each individual track, or even record your own voice.

I decided to combine three audio files. 1 ) the trance mp3. 2) I would export a setting from bwgen BrainWave generator. the setting is deep meditation. 3) I would find an mp3 that has relaxation sounds like ocean waves.

So after I obtained all three files I set it up so that the voice was the loudest, the waves were just a little lower so they could aid in relaxation. And the deep meditation brainwave was just above audible( because I find those noises to be VERY annoying).

I can honestly say that it puts me into trance. I do deep breathin along with the track. during and afterwords my body feels extremely heavy like I cant pick up my arms without a huge amount of will, I feel almost numb or paralyzed. I recommend doing a similar setup for yourself.

The self hypnosis is still a working project, I haven't decided if it is better for the autosuggestion to be very clear and understandable, or unclear.
