I've heard that binaural beats can be used to trigger lucid dreams, so I've downloaded SBaGen, a free program which generates binaural beats. However, although I can figure out how to run the program, I can't find any guides on how I'm supposed to use it. Other people seem to be using special tracks meant for lucid dreaming, which my program doesn't have, and using it while sleeping, which won't work for me. Is there a known way I can use SBaGen to increase frequency or quality of LDs?

I have been interested in binaural beats for some time. In my experience, they can easily be used
in conjunction with meditation to reach some very funky states ( check out the brainsuites CD
collection in your local music store - They will be w/ the new age and meditation stuff)

I am fairly convinced that the delta wave and theta wave programs will on occasion coax my
brain into a state of phase 1 or phase 2 sleep, without actually losing consciousness. This is
analogous to lucid dreaming which is phase 5 sleep wo/ loss of conscious awareness. This
is best exemplified of course when you have a WILD. It's a very euphoric state, full of very cool
      hynagogic imagery.

The more direct method to achieve this is using a cranial electro stimulation machine. I own one
have have used it to induce a few WILDS. I did this by getting up after 5-6 hours, and setting
the CES device for a brainstate of 4.0 Hz. Relax and drift off using whatever meditation or
visualization technique is of interest to you. If you don't have one - learn. This is a powerful technique
that seems to have a lot of potential for me, I have simply been more focused on the DILD
      and WBTB stuff.

      Enjoy

Your ears only respond to sound down to about 20Hz. Most brainwave activity, certainly
brainwave activity during REM is below this threshold.

The concept of binaural beats if to play tones or other forms of music that has a frequency
shift between the right and left channels. Let's keep it simple. In the case of tones, the right
ear (you wear headphones of course) would receive a 100 Hz tone, and the left ear might receive
a 104 Hz tone. From your brains perspective, the additive affect of these is roughly a 102 Hz
signal with an amplitude modulation of 4 Hz. Your brain tends to entrain to that 4 Hz signal.

So essentially, by listening to binaural beats, or for example the Brainsuites meditation CD's,
you can encourage your brain to drop from an active Beta state, down to a desired state such
as Theta - which is consistent with deep meditation and dreaming.

For me binurals rarely work. SBagen was the worst personally. BWGen works ALOT better.

Binaural beats has been the only method that has ever effectively worked for me. I always recommend this technique. You can find lots of info about this online, but I always recommend luciddreamnow.com as it has an excellent description of what binaural beats are and how exactly they trigger lucid dreams.

Cool, it's the first post I ever made, brought back from the archives.

As long as the thread is back, I have a similar question to the one I started this thread with. I have BWgen, but it didn't seem to do much for me. Are there any presets anyone has found to be particularly helpful?
