I've tried different types of audio programs to help me become lucid with no luck. However, that doesn't mean it won't work for you as it has worked for others.

I got my first wild from the first track of hemi-sync. Haven't had one since though . Haven't used it much either, been trying more standard methods. My wild was very short and of course I got excited waking up quickly.

Reason I haven't used it is that I find it hard to fall asleep at the pace of the track so it kinda turned me off to it.

I think I used the very first in the series a long while ago. I tried it a few times, but unfortunately with little success. My main problem was actually falling asleep to it correctly: they give you ample to relax and do so, but I kept trying to force myself asleep, thinking that I had to hurry up if I wanted this to work correctly, which is probably the worst thing you can do. So yeah, if you have trouble falling asleep, my advice is just to relax, or at least come in pretty tired already.

See my post Daytime WILDs (11.30.08). This uses a similar technique.

      i have a hemi-sync thing.
it goes for about an hour.

      it's fantastic.

two nights ago i decided to use it for the first time in ages and i remembered 10 ND's!!
      that's a record for me.

not sure if it's the same hemi sync you have. there are different kinds.

I really hate lucid mp3 files where they talk. It makes me "jolt" when they say certain words or sounds.

      Have tried so many.
I even made one once, I finally found it stops my minds natural processes working with the sounds on.
I wake with no recall of dreams and just have a blank nights sleep.

I've tried the first three lessons. It seems the later the lesson the deeper you go. Like the first one has a relatively high frequency rate I believe, and the next gets lower and lower. I've achieved a hypnagogic state before using it but that's as far as I've gone.

Also I agree with AtomiC, sometimes when he is about to speak, there is a slight pop, or when he does speak, if you are intensely focused it can kind of startle you. They try to lower the volume of the guides voice the slower/deeper you go, which helps a little.

I actually took one of the files and threw it into an editor and chopped out all the vocals. takes some doing to get it to splice right or you hear the cut points if you don't match up the frequency changes right.

If you're interested in binural beats though I found SBAGEN to be a good program for that. It's fairly simple to learn, free, and you have full control over what frequencies are used. I haven't every really messed around with that for sleeping since I don't have a PC in my bedroom, and exporting an 8hour audio file in high quality to listen to on an MP3 player is just silly. But I recently got a laptop, so maybe I will try it...

I have used it for meditating and I've even used it at work to help my concentration and focus. I've found it to work, at least for me, in those situations.

As the pattern gets more intricate and subtle,
being swept along is no longer enough.

Well, once I got the whole Gateway Experience series. At the beginning tried step by step by no result so jumped into recordings with Focus 12 and 21. Still Nothing. Like AtomiC I didn't like much talking and also higher states sounds lasted too short - 10 - 15 min. The rest was talking or preparing etc. So I made myself one using their Hemisync samples coming from Focus 10,12 to 21 lasting about 1,5 hour. I can only say it made me to sleep better but nothing more. Perhaps I belong to the group that has an elephant ear for Hemisync. That does not mean that Hemisync is wothless. For some it works magic.

The Gateway Voyage is amazing for personal/spiritual growth in general, but I'm not sure it was meant for lucid dreaming though. More for OBEs.
