Question How some substances affect dreams..

i.e. If I vaporize cannabis before going to bed, I may not remember my dreams the next morning.

What about other substances like caffeine? Any personal experiences? Links?

They ten to affect people differently. Some get more vivid dreams when using cannabis before bed. Calea Z and Silene Capensis are both said to make dreams more vivid and aid in lucidity.

I have found that using cannabis directly before bed helps me have more vivid dreams, but the dream is very fragmented when I wake up. I find it funny how you mention caffeine though, who could even fall asleep with that in their system?

I'm talking about if you use caffeine any time during the day..

Does it affect anyone's sleep or dreams like cannabis might do to me?

Same with alcohol and any other substances you can think of.

Caffeine doesn't have a good affect on my dreams. I once drank one of those five hour energy drinks just before bed... not a good idea. It gave me some awesome HI, but it took ages to actually get to sleep, and I didn't have hardly any recall the next morning.

Vitamin B6 is a really good substance for dreaming, though. I've never had any personal experiences with it, but I've heard that it does help.

(And I believe this thread should go in Lucid Aids...)

Caffeine has no effect on me, but smoking weed probably isn't a very good idea to begin with. Plus if your'e high you don't really need to have a lucid dream to be happy

Effect of some substances on my dreams/recall:

Cannabis: dreams seem more vivid but dream recall is usually very bad to zero.
Alcohol (3 glasses or more): dreams are more vivid but it can disturb my sleeping cycles and make me wake up and unable to sleep more for some time during the night.
Calea: Insane vivid dreams and dream recall. Up to 15+ dreams that I can remember.
Nicotine: I dont smoke regular, but I do smoke a cigar now and then, and the effect is quite interesting, dreams seem more vivid and somewhat more easy to remember.
Vit B6: helped me start off with higher dream recall. Doesnt seem to do a lot for me anymore now though (few years later).

for me cannabis seems to cause more vivid dreams but leaves me with little or no dream recall.

i puff the herb day and night, the caffeine substances i drink are coca-cola and monster energy when i go to the gym.
it doesn't effect my dream recall much.
just the weed effects my recall, i get vivid dreams though.
i have good long term memory, so sometimes the second i wake up i get distracted and forget my dream.
but like 10 minutes later it triggers back.
