      Binaural Beats - iTunes

I never used binaural beats before and I'm looking to download/purchase some tracks off of iTunes.

      Any reccomendations?

Also, do I HAVE TO use stereo headphones?

Will regular earbuds work as well to achieve the effect?

Binaurals are awesome! Yes, well, it has to be in each ear... I suppose earbuds should work fine. But the signal must be in stereo. The whole point is that there's a slightly different tone going to each ear. If you listen in mono, you'll lose the effect.

Do you have an ipod touch? I've never seen any binaural beats in the music section, but there are some great apps.

I downloaded this little gem when it was free, but 99 cents isn't too much for what it's worth. So far I haven't gotten an LD out of it, but I've had success with the frequencies for focus, energy, and meditation.

I've seen other apps that are pricier but with more features. For example, some come with an option for white noise, such as a rainstorm, to mask the sound of the tones.

      Good luck

You HAVE to use headphones or earbuds, yes. And they have to be stereo. Otherwise it does not work at all. They have to be oscillating in both ears separately because that's how the sounds affect the brain, which in turn generates a signal in the brain that we feel the effects of.

While this thread is here, what exactly do Binaural beats do? I understand how they are made but what are they supposed to achieve?
Controlling my feelings for too long,
Forcing our darkest souls to unfold,
      Pushing us into self destruction.

They make me dream.... Make me dream, your dreams.
They make me scream.... Make me scream, and scream.

I think the rhythms are supposed to tweak your brain wave patterns to induce certain brain states. I'm not sure exactly how (or if) it works.

A friend of mine gave me a binaural beat track that's supposed to help with lucid dreaming. I plan to try it tonight, both just as I go to sleep the first time and after a WBTB.

No dream goals at the moment...just flying and letting stuff happen is kinda fun, and it's hard to motivate myself to try LDing lately.
