Choline and AlphaGPC are very similar. I've never had much luck with either by themselves, but I don't think Galantamine is needed for it to help. A good B-Complex and DMAE work well with AlphaGPC, IMO. Also, if you're specifically looking for an acetylcholinesterase inhibitor, Huperzine A is an alternative to Galantamine. Personally, I won't mess with Galantamine due to the side effects. For me, DMAE and B-complex is enough for recall improvement and I still haven't decided on whether or not choline/AlphaGPC tends to help or hurt my recall.
EDIT: As a last effort to see if I can get choline to work for me, I'm thinking of adding Citicoline (CDP Choline) with Huperzine A to my standard night dose of DMAE and B-complex.
