Before I go a head with this, I need to know if the book is going to be in black & white or in colour. |

Excellent question mrdeano. I have not given it much thought, (seeing as I was leaving creative control regarding images as a whole to the graphics department itself) but black and white is much more feasible in terms of cost than colored images within the book (with the exception of the book cover itself). |

hey everyone, here is a rough sketch of my idea for the chapter header illustration for the introduction. don't panic, it's just a sketch, not representative of the final version. the background, behind the window, is supposed to be clouds but the photo i used was bad so it will be more clear in the final. it's really loose in the sketch and will be cleaned up for the final, although i want to use charcoal, so there will be a primitive feel to the linework. the there will be no border edges for the illustration either, creating a floaty kind of effect. |

yeah jeff mentioned it looked a little ghost-ish. i'm going to make sure that the figure has more of a solid feel in the final version. thanks for the critique! |

I just wanted to introduce myself to the department. I have experience in adobe after effects, 3ds max, boujou, and just a little photoshop. Heres my website I recently made that shows some of my work. http://cstproductions.webs.com/ Glad to join the team! |

Great convo. guys. In my personal opinion, I think you both are right. I think the reader should be made aware that their expectations become their subjective lucid reality. That being said, the reader will see what s/he expects to see...be it fluffy bunnies or carnivorous vampire zombie bunnies. My point is, the reader will be fully briefed about what their expectations within the lucid dream will lead to. So as opposed to dictating what they will experience, our aim is to make the reader aware that their dream starts off as a blank canvas and they are holding the golden paintbrush. |
