      LD vs OBE

I recently had an experience that some people would refer to as an OBE, while others a LD. I had the sensation of leaving my body after extreme vibrations, floating in the air, then walking around my house perceiving my surroundings from two perspectives, my frozen body on the bed, and this new "spiritual" body that felt very foreign. I could close my eyes and experience my room from the new body, or open my eyes and feel paralyzed on my bed, among a lot of other weird experiences.

To me, this felt quite different from a dream, but yet very simliar at the same time. Its like a combination of sleep paralysis, mixed with a false awakening, but later i felt as if i had control and conciousness of a lucid dream. To me the whole thing about leaving your body sounds like a lot of crap, if people could actually do it and it was legit, how come no one has ever been able to acheive this state and read a piece of paper in another room, then report back what was written after coming out of the state. We could have spies travel across the world and get information without any risk what so ever. To me, an OBE is just a weird dream phenomenon, but i really dont know to much about them because there doesnt seem to be much valid research on them.

How would you define the difference between an OBE and lucid dream? do you think that an OBE is actually what its defintion says?
There was nothing to fear and nothing to doubt...

Personally I think that OBE is just dreaming that you leave your body. That's because I don't believe in those spiritual explanations about OBEs. I don't think that your so-called spirit can really leave your body. I might be a little sceptic, but that's how I think about this.
Don't think about those damn kangaroos.

I have experienced what you have many times before. In that whole vibrational state, you can get your body to do all kinds of weird things. I've tried to get out of my body, succeeded, thinking I was OBEing. Not true though. These are fake OBEs. Real OBEs only occur in the deepest stages of sleep, where few are able to maintain conciousness...and this is why alot of people experience real OBEs during near death experiences.

I've been wanting to know, how do most people end up in this OBE? I mean, how do you make the connection of getting "outside" of your body?

For instance, are you in the middle of a dream (lucid) and choose to get out of you body? Is there a door that you open, or do you spin and hope to be outside?

      OR

Do you go directly from lying into your bed, to all of a sudden lifting yourself out of your body?

If OBE's do exist, I would think that the second method would seem more likely to be real - since you're not connecting through a dream. But, Lucidnina says it happens at a deeper stage of sleep - so you would have to be dreaming first to get to that stage? No?

Wait a sec. WILD sometimes begins with OBE, doesn't it? At least in that case OBE starts your dream. Correct?
