Last night it happened, I had my first Lucid Dream!

In the dream, my sisters, my dad, and I were all at home. Scary things were happening with the lights, flickering on and off. Then, all of the lights went off and all I could see was the TV. At this point, I don’t know where my dad went. My sisters and I all got together in the kitchen. We knew that there were ghosts present (maybe not ghosts, they seemed to be alive, sort of a cross between mutants, zombies, ghosts, murderers (real people), and maybe some enemies out of a video game. you will see why the last one is true later. I’ll call them “beings”). We were all very scared, or at least I was.

We headed into the computer room, and we saw one – a being. He was very tall, at least 7 feet, and he looked like he was an old man. He was wearing very raggedy clothing. He also seemed green (not a ghostly green, just green, like seaweed). My sisters screamed, and I grabbed their shoulders and pulled them with me while I ran. I had this uncanny feeling of being deathly scared, and having no choice but to run, but all the while feeling that there was no hope.

We ran into my sisters' room, and there was another “being” there. He was much shorter (four foot?), seemed to have bright lights for eyes (I’ll call him light-eyes). They lit up the area all around the room. Also, he was wearing a nightgown that was torn at the bottom. He seemed to be floating a few inches off the ground. My sisters froze and started screaming. I grabbed the bottom of their shirts and started running. I remember thinking about something about a power that these beings must have that only affects women.

We ran into the kitchen, and hid together in a corner. I had the uncanny feeling that this was a dream. I told my sisters this, and tried pushing my finger through my hand. I saw the tall old ghost approaching, and started jamming my right index finger into my left palm, it wouldn't work, and it hurt. We all ran around the house, and we were sure that we lost him (how we lost someone that size in our house, I don't know.). My younger sister grabbed a flashlight and my older sister grabbed my red candle. The candle was now full, as opposed to being almost burnt out like it is in real life. I had the feeling that even if we weren't going to survive, and there was literally no hope, I had to be the leader. This is strange because I don't see myself as a leader type in real life.

We headed into the sunroom, and I told my sisters to sit down on the couch. I don't remember now, but there was something scary about the sunroom. Maybe it was just all of the windows letting people, or the “beings”, outside see inside. I turned around from the couch toward the door leading back inside the kitchen, and saw light-eyes. I got extremely angry and knew I had to stop him. I started grabbing random things and throwing them at him (a pair of pliers, a hammer, an electronic chess board, my Gamecube, my Gamecube controllers, my Gamecube games, etc.). Everything that hit him made the sound of objects banging hollow metal. I knew he wasn't a robot or anything, and that he was some sort of living thing, but they still made this noise and bounced right off. They didn't faze him, but he turned around and headed back into the house. I remembered looking into his "eyes" before he turned around. That was extremely scary.

I went back and sat down with my sisters. I told them again that I had the feeling this was a dream. I started to try and slowly push my right index finger into my left hand again. It wouldn't work. I looked up and saw that light-eyes was back and he had brought someone with him. The “being” with him was about my height, and he was carrying a lantern. He looked a lot like a Tonberry (If you don;t know, a Tonberry is a very shorted hooded figure, who always carries a lantern), only taller, my height.

They started coming towards me. I ran around them and into the darkness of the kitchen (which leads into the living room which is connected to the hallway, foyer, dining room, and computer room). I ran behind a couch in the living room. I yelled over to my sisters "These are the last two!!!" I don't know how I knew this, or what happened to the other “beings”. I noticed that they had "powers" (this is where it seems like a video game. they each had certain things that they did, and a weakness, similar to a video game boss.). The Tonberry one was able to do something scary, I can’t remember what. I think it was that if you looked into his lantern that he was carrying, he would paralyze you and take over your mind. This would possibly turn you into a being like them. I also noticed that he was blind, except for being able to see other “beings”. What light-eyes did was he was able to scan and lock on to people. He would then follow them, movement for movement. I realized that this meant that if I could trick the light-eye being and lose him, both would be unable to find me (the Tonberry was dependent on light-eyes).

I kept trying to trick light-eyes, but try as I might, I couldn't. He just kept following me. I turned and ran towards the sunroom door. In this dream, my refrigerator was directly beside the sunroom door. I was then able to open the fridge and it would cover most of the sunroom door. This would temporarily stall them, I knew. I was then in the sunroom with my sisters again. I heard a moaning from where I had come. The refrigerator door closed, and the Tonberry walked in. He was now no longer blind. He spoke to me, in a very drawn out deep voice. He said, "You managed to get rid of the other one because he saw the light. But there is no way you will escape from me!!!" Apparently light-eyes's weakness was that he couldn't look into other lights.

Then I turned around and the candle was lit. It was only lit when the Tonberry being was in the room. I realized there was some connection between the candle and him. I yelled to my little sister, "SMASH THE CANDLE!” She just kind of dropped the candle on the floor. I realized she seemed to have and attachment to the candle. I took it from her and smashed it on the ground. The glass encasing the candle shattered, and its light went out. I looked up and the being was gone. We all knew we had done it; we had beaten the "beings" (in the back of my head I knew something was not quite right.).

We all sat on the couch and talked about what had happened. I discreetly tried pushing my finger through my hand. Again, it didn't work. My dad came in from outside, and we all asked him where he had been. He said "Umm... Uh... The chickens…" We were all satisfied with this answer. Just then, I saw a man come in the door behind him. I knew that this was one of his coworkers. This man had a very thick country accent. Both of them talked for a short while, and then exited outside through another door. The coworker shortly came back in. The lights went out again, I looked at my little sister and she was frantically trying to turn on her flashlight. It wasn't working. I then knew there was something strange and evil about this man. He had a black and green flashlight with him. He turned it on and set it on a table, and then ran out the door. It made strange light patterns on the wall and made a low pulsating sound (very similar to a brain entrainment kind of sound) that filled the room. I knew that this was a calling signal for other "beings".

I looked in my backyard, and there was a whole army of them, with my dad and his "coworker" leading them (this is a common theme in my dreams. no longer is it just our house and our lives at stake, it was the world.) I knew there was nothing left to do but run. I told my sisters to follow me and I ran out the door into the front yard. I got down on all fours and started doing an army crawl sort of thing. Our house is on a gravel road, and we are at the end of it. This road is also very hilly, going up and down several times. I thought about going to my next-door neighbor’s house, but then realized that my dad and his coworker had already taken over the entire street. I kept crawling as fast as I could while still being low on the ground. I started heading down the first hill on the road. I looked back, and my sisters weren't there. They hadn’t seen where I went, and were still up there. I knew they were dead for sure, and were going to become a "being". I just kept crawling and didn't turn around. Suddenly I looked back again, and my cousin Matt was there. I said "Come on, we have to hurry!"

We kept crawling. A large eighteen-wheeler (without a trailer) was coming up the hill. I tried to crawl out of its way, but was suddenly powerless. The front wheel barely missed me. I touched the truck with my hands and pushed off. I now seemed to be sliding down the hill, as If I was bobsledding, only with no bobsled and I was going headfirst. And this was all on gravel! So I suddenly sped up on my “bobsledding”, and got to the bottom of the hill (which was much larger than it is in real life.). I got up and helped Matt up. Now at the bottom of the hill, instead of the road continuing, there was an opening into another area. In this area it was bright and sunny, as opposed to early morning dark.

We were at the top of a cliff, and the cliff was very high. Leading down from the cliff were these raggedy rope bridges that twisted in all sorts of directions on the way down. We started walking on them. About half way down, we heard voices from behind us. At the top of the cliff were our moms, talking about something crazy about us, I don't remember what. This is where the dream transformed from "run from ‘beings’!" into "happy sunny fun recreational place, with these rope bridges being just one of the activities".

Matt and I kept walking down the bridges. I again had the feeling that I was dreaming, and tried to push my finger through my hand. It would not work. I then remembered reading about a dream where somebody tried to do this, in a dream, and it wouldn't work. I then decided to use another method for a dream check. I realized that the whole time that Matt and I had been running from the beings, there was a timer in the lower right of my field of vision (again, like a video game.). I looked at the timer intently, trying to change it. It went "29, 28, 27, [garble], Japanese letters, 5:26, 9:38..." I realized that this must be a dream. However, I wasn’t in full lucidity. I was about to try to jump off one of the rope bridges and try to fly, but I realized this might scare my cousin. I had discussed Lucid Dreaming with him before, and I said to him "I'm think I'm dreaming! I'm going to try and fly." He nodded, and I jumped.

At first, I just willed myself to rise into the air, and it sort of worked, though I had the feeling I could fall at any moment. I then realized it felt like swimming, and I had something I could relate to (I didn't know how to fly, but I knew how to swim!). I started swimming higher and higher into the air. I then realized that this wasn't actually outside, but artificial! The place actually had a ceiling, though it looked like the sky. As I neared the ceiling, I realized my little sister was swimming behind me. I then noticed that there was some sort of platform jutting out from a wall. I grasped on to it as I would if I was holding onto a wall in a swimming pool. My little sister grasped on too, and said something about "lava". I said "what?" and she reached inside the platform. I looked in the platform, which was now like a tub sticking out from the wall, and there was lava in it. My little sister pulled her hand out and it was covered with lava that just ran off. It reminded me of tomato soup. I laughed and said, "cool!"

I then let go of the wall and slowly started floating downward. While I was up there the place below me had turned into a kitchen from a house I had never been in. Matt was there, and he was on the phone. I wanted to know who it was, and heard a little bit from the phone conversation. It was something about "cheese crackers". I took the phone from him and listened. The person on the other side said "Oh, hello." I realized that it was Matt's friend Travis. He seemed to be speaking through a distortion device. He said something about how if he had tried to talk to me the "normal way" he would of had to stack up cheese crackers to the ceiling. I laughed though I had no idea what the heck he was talking about. I then slowly woke up. When I woke up, I realized what had happened and quickly wrote it down.

Woah... That was long...
