      2nd LD… After 9 years!

So, after 9 years of fruitless attempts - i got there!

Just for the record - it wasn't continuous 9 years of trying to achieve LD. I did it on and off. 1-2 months of trials and then 6 months or even a year break. This cycle i started in July. I refreshed techniques, start dream journal (again! and practiced MILD each weekend, RT everyday, learning mindfulness etc.

      Here's the dream:

I'm riding a stage-coach with two horses. On my left side is sitting my girlfriend. Suddenly i realize i'm dreaming! No RT, no dream signs involved! And it feels so real, so normal. No burst of energy, no fireworks. I just now i'm dreaming. Just like that, ha ha! And i remember the feeling of my dream body. Exactly as in a waking life. I was really calm and relaxed

So, i'm sitting there with my g/f, but then, the picture of my her is getting blurred and is becoming completely black. I'm losing my sight and i can see only deep darkness. I'm still repeating to myself: "This is a dream, don't wake up...". But, unfortunately i awaken. The transition from the dream to the waking state was really smooth and quite pleasant

The technique i used was MILD and listened binaural beats (4Hz) with pink noise while repeating autosuggestion mantra ("I will realize i'm in the dream..." blah blah blah .

Wish me luck with my further LD practice!

I hope your comment will not work as a subliminal message, ha ha

Dang! 9 years?! Well, congratulations anyway. What have you been doing other than subliminal messages and mantras? Oh and if your a frequent computer user, you should edit your wallpaper background to say some were "Am I dreaming" it really helps. Heres mine if you want it:

just click it to go to the image link, then zoom it by clicking it again while your at the site, then right click and press "set as desktop background"

I'm just trying to maintain a habit of regular RT's and perceiving the waking reality as dreams.

I used to have a wallpaper in my cellphone with a "Am i dreaming" banner but i was getting habituated quite fast so i gave up

MILD as a standalone for most people is a garbage technique. Binaural beats are straight garbage. I recommend wake back to beds, especially if you go the MILD route. It shouldn't have taken 9 years!

If all else, at least do reality checks in whatever way works for you. If you have reccuring dreams, use them as your dream sign. Best of luck

Research the WILD technique. With some practice and motivation, you can WIlD every single night, then DEILD chain to have 2-3 more.

Can you WILD every night? If not, I don't mean to be a smartass, but I don't think you should suggest that quite yet. Start simple, baby steps and the most important part of learning to lucid dream is not tear yourself in 6 different directions at once. Pick a method and stick with it for a little while first.

      Best of luck!

This gives me hope. That if I keep on trying I'll get it eventually. Though I would like for it happen 9 years sooner.

Man I feel bad now xD. I had 3 lucids today. If you haven't tried melatonin supplements yet you really should. I don't know how but it kinda kick started my lucid dreaming.

You've been trying to hard, 9 years, whoa! I've had at least a dozen including false awakenings and sleep paralysis, all though not all successful and all of them happened without doing any of the technique on this website. Just naturally especially in the morning and during naps. This website just made me realize it's a ld and the power of it whenever I have one so it's harder to forget them. I really think alot about it during the day when I had one.

You know, the key point of a succesful lucid dream is just think about what will happen next? Keep thinking forward. It's just a dream but only you're aware of it that's it you can just keep dreaming you don't have to think about staying lucid or waking up at all. Once you get that the first few times it will be naturally and you won't think a moment about, like "wow i'm lucid", or anything else. It won't pop up in your mind at all.
If you gonna practise, do it in the morning, wake up early, preferably without an alarm clock. Don't think too hard. Just...dream, fantasize, imagine...like going back to sleep...the next second you don't even realize it you're in a lucid.
