      The vividness of lucid dreaming

I have had several experiences of lucid dreaming. All of them were induced or encouraged by disturbed sleep, rather than by practicing specific techniques.

One aspect of interest that I have noted is the "vividness" or "richness" of the visual detail in a lucid dream. In one such experience, about a year ago, the visual detail was so stunningly vivid -- moreso than in real life, I think -- that I can still remember the images today. I correlate that vividness with a high degree of lucidity.

Not all of my lucid dreams have been so vivid, and the level of lucidy has varied. For example, last night I had at least one episode of lucid dreaming, but the level of lucidity was low, so that I was perhaps aware I was dreaming only part of the time.

Another interesting aspect of my lucid dreaming has been false awakenings. As far as I can tell, this has happened *every* time I have dreamed lucidly, although usually a real awakening is not long in the coming.

In the last part of last night's dream, I found myself in a plane that was falling from the sky. Although I reacted to some degree in a way that someone would whose death was imminent, I found myself surprisingly calm and at peace, although I'm not sure if it was due to lucidity, or resignation.

      Thanks!

Cool i have had a dream like that and when the plane crashed or whatever I just fell out of the lucid dream and bounced back later into something else. Its cool how lucid dreams can be very similar.

Those false awakening seemed to happen more frequent to me when i was allot younger. Now things change, shapes and people change text i read changes. The most frustrating thing to me is when a sexy chick changes into something im not interested in. I can keep it going all night i just need more control.

AS far as vividness. ive always had that i guess im just lucky my dreams of flying can be the most beautiful scenary ive ever seen. Actually stuff ive never seen awake.
