Hmmm...maybe next time look around for a bag, purse, or even your pockets and reach in and just expect it to be there. If that doesnt work, try asking a DC to give you the spirit blade. As for flying trying thinking of the ceiling/sky is sucking you up, or maybe you need to try flying by jumping off a roof or something. Good luck in your next lucid!
