      Yes! My first lucid dream!

I had my first lucid dream last night. I set my alarm and was going to wake up around 5am to try a WILD. I fell asleep though and woke up 40 minutes later. I stayed up for about 30 minutes, then tried a WILD. I know that I didnt get far into the WILD andjust fell asleep. But I did have a lucid dream. I was flying, then realized that I cant do that in real life. As soon as I realized that I appeared in my house (still in a dream). I performed a load of reality checks, but before I got the chance to do anything else I woke up.

I dont think I was completely in control of myself though. It was only a semi-lucid dream. And it wasnt very realistic. How do you make your dream more realistic? I tried spinning and focusing, and that worked a little, but not a whole lot. Heh I wasnt very impressed with my subconcious' writng ability either. When I opened up a book to do a reality check, it was all a jumble of letters and numbers...

I find that as soon as I attain lucidity, the best thing to do is stop everything and clear your mind.

There are two impulese you have to fight-

      one, avoid waking up,

      and two, avoid getting distracted.

If you suddenly start flying or doing too many reality checks, you might loose lucidity and simply carry on doing these things.

I find the addrennaline rush can often cloud your thoughts and push you back under into subconsciousness.

Once you've attained lucidity, I think it's best to do one reality check, just to make sure, and to give your mind the jolt it needs to step out of the water, then start doing whatever you want. Just remember to keep your concentration on lucidity, otherwise you'll forget.

You might also find you don't know lucidity enough when you get it, in one of my early LD's, I was riding my bike on a road, I suddenly went lucid for no particular reason, and skidded to a halt, but in the moment of stopping, I forgot everything and carried on with the dream. I was only lucid for a few seconds.

hey hey! thats brilliant! i remember when i had my first one too. it seems hazy at first - like you keep forgettin to remember that youre dreaming, and then something else makes you go 'oh yeah! im dreaming!' try spinning again - it usually works i think. or concentrate on one tiny thing in the dream that you can see or hear. good luck

I woke up because I moved my leg in my sleep, and I guess the sudden movement woke me up. Once I realized I was dreaming I did get very excited and things started to blur, so I tried spinning, and it worked. I guess I just need more practice...
