      filibustered by a dream character

Hey, I wanted to share this lucid experience I had. As I am still a grasshopper in this area, as far as holding lucidity for lengths of time, this dream was frustrating, and a bit funny to think back on. I had attained lucidity and had come across this dream character, who was my high-school teacher that I had always enjoyed talking too. In this dream he was angry at me for some reason, and this hurt me, and led me to inquire of the reason. At this point, the emotional level was pretty high, and I could feel the dream collapsing, but I tried with all I could muster to hold my focus, because it has been about 12 or 13 years since I had seen this teacher. So, what did he say in these precious 20 or 30 seconds that I held on for? A bunch of useless information that did not pertain to me.

It seems like you have high expectations from your dreams and may even be taking them too seriously. Regarding your old teacher, you shouldn't have taken his anger personally or let it affect you, which is probably mistake #1.

I'm not one of those who think all dreams are completely meaningless and can't have a higher or spiritual significance, but I do think that many of them are pretty random and probably just manifestations of some type of stress, insecurity or emotions that were never fully resolved.

Next time, be happy that you're having a lucid dream and act like you own the place - because you do! Try to have a good time, don't worry about making sense of some dream character's emotions. If they don't rub you the right way, kick em in the crotch and move on. Try flying, summoning your favorite sports car or even walking outside and grabbing a handful of dirt and letting it sprinkle out of your palm, you'll be amazed at how satisfying the little things can be in an LD.
