      Ever met a Dream Character?

I was wondering if anyone here has ever had a recurring dream character who isn't from real life, and then one day met them. I have a history of precog dreams, and I used to have this dream character that wasn't based on anyone from real life. In fact it was pretty much the only recurring DC I had who wasn't part of my waking life. Then one day I find someone who looks almost exactly the same. Not only that but I have this bizarre connection with the person, almost like I've known them a lot longer than I've actually known them for. It's really weirding me out and I'm not sure if I can make myself believe it or not. Anyone ever have an experience like this?

100% of the people I meet are idiots. If you are the one guy in the world who isn't an idiot, put this in your sig line.

haven't had an experience like that which i can remember.

although one night i dreamt of the same individual in 3 separate dreams, and communed with her lucidly in the last. to be honest, a part of me still expects to meet her some day, as it was such a peaceful and lovely experience, and i don't want to regulate her to the realm of phantasm prematurely.

yet the skeptic has 2 cents to throw:

facial expressions/structure/eyes can tell alot about a person's personality. your subconscious seems to have created a DC in your dreams who conveys certain qualities.

you met someone who has very similar looks, and thus conveys the same qualities.

the key phrase seems to be "looks almost exactly the same"..

most of us have had the experience of having someone on the brain, and seeing them everywhere (mistaking strangers for them i mean). perhaps this is a similar case. we often find what we are seeking for (whether that seeking be conscious or unconscious)...

      just a thought.

      ----
regardless, i know exactly what you mean about the bizarre connection, and how it seems you've know them for longer than you actually have. i have had a handful of people who i share similar connections with.

IMO, it is best to openly discuss the connection, instead of mulling over whether it is only you who are bizarre you likely feel like you have known this person for ages because you have in a way.

shared qualities/mindsets are nobody's sole property. when you share enough of them with another person, you essentially share a part of your being with them. in this sense you have known certain aspects of this strangely familiar individual for as long as you can remember knowing yourself.

      -----

so i guess i'm saying i have no idea whether it was 100% him/her that you dreamt about, but perhaps it doesn't really matter. perhaps it was 99%, or 76% that person you dreamt about, if you get my drift.

talk to them explicitly about your connection when intuition prompts you, and you won't be disappointed. it is like meeting a lifelong friend in a single moment of unwalled recognition.

yeah, I get what you're saying. It wouldn't be unusual to develop a connection with someone quickly who you thought you knew from a dream. What's more is that having met this person, the dream character is essentially dead. If I see the DC again I'll be reminded of the person, and the DC will then almost certainly look like the person. Oh well, supernatural or not, it's a fun phenomenon.

So although people would generally consider this 'rare' or some sort of 'phenomenon' (I don't think I personally do) It's actually quite common as long as the shared qualities and mindsets are present? That's interesting. I think there's only been a handful of people I've met that I felt like I'd known them forever. But all of them actually seemed quite different than myself. But yet I still felt although these people where just 'meant for me' (one time in the romantic sense, one time not). So I suppose it all comes down to what exactly you believe in?
