      My First Lucid.

So for about 4 weeks I've been working on attaining lucidity. I don't know if its this way for everyone, but although I am never aware in my dreams, my subconscious seems all the more aware of my natural surroundings. For example; my best friend and I get high almost everytime were together. If I play wiz kahlifa while I sleep, my friend always makes an appearance and were always high. I came home from school a few days ago very angry, this mood stuck through the night. Three times that night my dream shifted, but one of them I am glad to say, was lucid. I found myself standing nowhere. There was only white. All around me was only white...I couldn't even see the ground I was standing on. Although I have NEVER been aware in a dream, in this case, no RC was needed. I was instantly aware i was dreaming. SO SURREAL!! To stand there dreaming while at the same time feeling my body in bed. I could sense I was in a different body. The excitement was too much and it started fading. I previously hoped I would not falter in this situation. Thankfully, I did not. I closed my eyes and rubbed my hands together. Suddenly my body in bed faded rather than the dream. The sensation was amazing. Made me gasp. And I felt my my dream body grow stronger. When ibopened my eyes and looked around I decided to try to create the landscape. That was too much and I shot up in bed, heart beating fast, sweating, gasping, and a grin from ear to ear. Please comment, im looking for all the tips I can get, any techniques that may prove useful. Thankyiu

congrats on your first lucid, much longer than my first one. Mine only lasted a few seconds before I woke up. Most people, like you, automatically want to start controlling their dream. There is nothing wrong with that, but you should at least take a a little bit of time to become very aware of your dream scape and to calm down so you do not wake quickly from excitement. Once you feel very comfortable and aware of your dream it becomes much easier to exert some control. The first thing I tried to do in a lucid is fly, I have yet to do it, either failed or only floated. The most successful thing I have done is changed the landscape. At first, I tried to just think of it, it did not work, then I thought of it again while spinning in a circle. It worked quite well, but I woke shortly after that. But back to the point, the best thing to do when you become lucid is take a minute or two, or even longer if needed to relax and try to stabilize your dream as much as possible, as you have more lucids you will get better and better at doing this which in turn makes it that much easier to control them. Happy dreaming and good luck on your next lucid.
