      Unusual Recurring Dream

      Hey all,

My first post here so go easy on me! I have always been amazed at the idea of dreams, and the elaborate stories we can come up with in our minds. I've had this recurring dream since I can remember (probably about 3 or 4) and I still have it to this day at least a few times a month. I am now 20. It is the same every time, and the weird thing about it is that it is almost a 'snapshot'. In other words, not a lot happens, it could occur in a span of perhaps 10 seconds, but it seems to last all night. Here is the dream:

I am a little boy, in a field and it's night time out, the sky is dark..but then the sky is also lit up in brilliant red, sort of how light reflects off of clouds at night. I am on this steep hill with my dad and we are picking flowers. They are just these little flowers that weigh absolutely nothing but when I pick them they put this huge strain on me, and it gives me a really uncomfortable feeling in the pit of my stomach when I pick them. There's also dead silence outside, but i just hear this pressure in my ears, like someone is screaming at the top of their lungs in them, only I dont hear it, just sense it. It used to scare me so bad when I was little, just made me so uncomfortable, but now it just makes me uneasy.

So, anyone want to take a stab at analyzing this? Also, my appologies if this is in the wrong forum.

      Eric

It could be the childs interpretation of grandeur and a wonderful life.

It could also have no meaning whatsoever. I don't believe in dreams having complicated metaphorical meanings. I try to interpret my dreams in a way as simple as possible, otherwise I dismiss them as random jumbles of meaningless elements.

I think that's the case for many dreams, and they can be as meaningful as YOU want them to be. But in the case of a recurring dream, I'd think there's more than "jumbles of meaningless elements" in that.

I have not had constantly recurring dreams for a while, but sometimes I have had a dream, and it comes back as part of a new dream. When the dream has returned months later it is less pronounced.
