I'd like to share my first experience in Lucid dreaming, which ultimately turned me on to the subject. This happened many moons ago, but I still can recall it fairly clear. It happened without warning.
I was very young. Early teens, I would say. One day, I wondered to myself if objects from the waking world felt the same way in the dream world. It was a passing thought and shrugged it off for the rest of the day. But later that night, my question would be answered.
I was running alongside what I felt were convicts. I do not remember what we were running from, what crimes they have committed, or even why I was affiliated with them in the first place. It was also day, which is strange because who escapes in broad daylight? But we ran straight into a forest. It was not as dense, light from the sun could be seen in various patches on the ground in front of us.
I then noticed what seemed to be like a brick shack to the right of us. It was on fire, for reasons unknown. There was nothing special to it, excluding the fire, but it was also surrounded by a metal fence. And then suddenly, it happened: I became lucid. Obviously, I did not know I had achieved this or what triggered it. But it felt like I had popped a bubble. The feeling of being surround in the dream world and then suddenly realizing you are now conscience. It was a nice feeling. But anyways, I was drawn to the metal fence. I started to feel it, brushing my finger between each ring. And what do you know? It felt like an actual fence. I was amazed. I stepped back and woke up.
I then looked up something along the lines of "Feeling real in dreams", which eventually led to the subject of Lucid dreaming. And then from there I had found this site.
