Also if I do this on a school night, would this make me tired?
Hmm I wouldn't recommend doing WILDs on schoolnights, because you'd only get a small amount of sleep then. But you can try out DEILDs on school nights, and do the proper WILD on weekends.

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

You can use an "anchor" which is something you keep track of to keep you from fully falling asleep. You can try breathing, or counting, or mantras. You focus on them in your head, constantly, but just enough to retain awareness as your body falls asleep. You can also use other anchors, because it works differently for everyone. White noise, the sound of a fan, anything really, you just have to experiment and find out what works best for you. I personally focus on my breathing, until I get imagery, and then I enter the dream.

I highly recommend that if you want to pursue WILDs, you should check out Sageous' WILD Class. All the aspects of WILD are discussed there, divided into lessons. It's really informative.

      Good luck
