      Very odd realisation

      Hey guys,

I had my second lucid dream the other night but it wasn't fully fledged which was disappointing.
However, the way I become lucid or gained some consciousness was quite bizarre.
I was riding a motorbike through very twisty mountainous roads with very big drops and evergreen tress all around. Something that you might picture in North America or Canada. Absolutely stunning.
This is where it got interesting. I misjudged a corner and went straight through the barrier and was plummeting to my imminent death. I vividly remember that sinking feeling you get whilst being on a rollercoaster. As I was falling I thought if this is a dream ill survive and just before I hit the ground I stopped in mid air and thought this is definitely a dream.
I managed to then stand up and I wanted to fly, so I did the whole superman fist thing and flew above the trees as I was doing this I was all over the place and couldn't really control my flight so I don't ink I was in control.
For some reason the next part of the dream seems really hazy and I can't remember much of what happened until I saw some people standing by a lake. So I walked up to them and did a reality check this late in the dream and my hands were disformed and my watch wasn't looking right either. I then said to the couple by the lake your in my dream to which they replied 'yeah we know'.
I was like wow and that was basically it.
In a way the whole dream seemed a little disappointing, which sounds really ungrateful but I think it's partly due to the fact I didn't have that much control, rather it was very sporadic throughout.
Anyone else had anything like this?
      Cheers,
      Jon

So to you, it was more like a dream where your dream eel knew it was a dream although you consciously did not know it was a dream? (Hence the little control of the dream.) I have never really heard of people who had experiences like this. But you never know, someone may have.

A long time ago I had a nightmare that really freaked me out, and after I woke up I got angry at the nightmare. So I went back to sleep and utterly destroyed it with as many destructive weapons as I could think of. Ever since then if my dream starts going towards scary. I will automatically make it better. The issue with this is that now I am always controlling my dreams and nothing seems crazy to me at the time of dreaming. I have tried and tried and tried to become lucid, but it is like I need to become lucid that I am already "lucid".(if that makes any sense) This is proving very hard for me :-( Sometimes I will sorta realize that I am dreaming, but not really. And it will be much like the OP's dream in that I will be in and out of control and the events will be sporadic.
