Another lucid dream, learned something cool

I had another lucid dream this morning. I was in my house, jumped out of my window (I tried to fly) but fell to the ground from a couple meters high. This didn't wake me up as I knew I was dreaming (lucid dream) and I just got up after falling. I walked to the house next to me and tried ringing the doorbell. When you ring a doorbell you expect someone to open, right? And someone opened up. It makes sense, expectations play such a huge role in dreaming. I asked her wether Ella is home (let's call her that for now) and she said yes even though she wasn't her mom. I know who this girl's mom is, and I knew that if I asked her anyway that she'd be there anyway. Pretty cool, right?

I got in the house and some stuff happened, etc... but the thing is my lucid dreams aren't vivid at all and last very short. I should really work on that.

      Congrats on the lucid dream!
It's nice that dream control is working out for you, next time apply that expectation to flying!
Length will definitely improve, as for vividness, you should increase your awareness. When you do reality checks in waking life, do you do them just mechanically? If so, that's the wrong way to do it. Before you do reality check, look around, search for anything weird and completely believe that you might be dreaming, then put emotions like "Wow, am i dreaming?", and after that do reality check itself while fully expecting it to show you that you are dreaming.
Also for making dreams more vivid and stable you could try some stabilization techniques: Dream Stabilization and Clarity Tutorial - Lucid Dreaming - Dream Views , though remember to not become too dependent on them.

Thanks for the help Checker, you're a champ.

Yes I do look around for abnormalities, I closely inspect the objects around me and the way my body feels and THEN I reality check while thinking that I really am dreaming. I only do it about 5 times a day though, I don't think it's quite enough.

I'll take a look at that tutorial, thanks again.

I have one more question, do you know anything about 'dream guides'? I'd love to get in touch with him/her.

      Grats on 100th lucid btw.

      Thanks!

Since you are doing reality check properly it should be good then. As you practice it your general level of awareness will rise which will make dreams more vivid in general.

As for dream guide question... I'd say as many dream experiences it can very from person to person, but usually, dream guide is generally persistent character that is possibly a manifestation of subconscious and that holds knowledge and helps you in dream. Again different people search for him/her differently, though i heard that some use dream control to summon him/her and ask appearing dream character if he/she is dream guide / test it some way. I haven't found, nor searched much for mine yet, but it's definitely on my goal list.
