      Odd dream last night

Hello guys, it's been a few months since I've been here or tried anything related to Lucid Dreams. I believe I quit because I felt like there wasn't enough time during my regular day to get started; however, I'm not out of school for an entire two months, therefore I'm presented with a ton of free time. Now is when I plan on trying my hardest for a LUCID dream.

Anyways, what really made me remember was a dream I had last night. I remember the dream quite well, just the small piece of it before it ended I guess. I'm not sure if I was LUCID or not. I was walking through some room (don't remember anything before this), and I saw the movie character Freddy Kruger (we talked about him last night before I went to bed - the question was who would be the best movie character mashup fight?). I instantly thought to myself "this is a dream", because I've seen Kruger in several dreams in the past. I then proceeded to completely ignore Kruger, I walked to another part of the room and tried to "spawn" someone (always wanted to try this whenever I attained lucidity). I ended up bringing in another character I knew from school. I tried to spawn someone else, and that's when the dream ended.

However, I'm not sure if this was all scripted by my brain or not. I'm not sure if it was just a small hint of lucidity. I sort of felt in control, like I never have in a dream before. But, I'm not sure. I honestly don't know what to make of it, and I'd love if you guys could someone figure out if this was technically my first DILD/Lucid Dream.

If so,....awesome. Even more incentive to try again.

I think this was indeed a lucid dream. Congratulations! The only requirement for lucidity is you have to know it is a dream, and you did. Now, if you can reapeat this experience and after a while you are likely to get better at it. Good luck!
You may say I'm a dreamer.

Hard to say - but if you were just dreaming of lucidity then after you've experienced the real thing you'll understand the difference. Usually when someone asks and expresses some doubt that means it wasn't really a lucid dream, just a normal dream about being lucid. But even having a dream like that means lucidity is strong on your mind and it often happenes just before real lucidity strikes. So use it as a boost - ride the excitement of it and focus even more on getting lucid!

Yup, you were lucid, so congrats!
Though sounds like your awareness was pretty low, which is not uncommon for some first lucids. Do you do reality checks and if you do, do you do them just mechanically? If so, that's wrong way of doing them, not reality checks themselves make us lucid, awareness does. Before doing reality check, look around, look for anything weird and possible dream signs, and completely believe that you might be dreaming, then put emotions like 'Wow, am i dreaming?', then do reality check itself and while doing it fully expect it to show you that you are dreaming.
