      Feeling yourself waking up

This morning i had a weird thing happen. A low humming noise woke me up but while i was sleeping in the middle of a dream i heard the noise. As i woke up i was fully aware of what was going on and it shocked me that i was concious the entire time from dreaming to waking. Has anyone else ever had this experience?

When that happens are you holding perfectly still?

      Strangers passing in the street
By chance two separate glances meet
And I am you and what I see is me.

I do that with my radio all the time. Some nights I set my radio-alarm to wake me up quite early so I can snooze for a few hours. I don't actually turn my radio off, I fall asleep with it still playing. The songs playing in the background get incorporated into my dream very often and when I wake up the song is in the exact same position from dream to being awake (it plays continually without skipping or jumping from dreaming to waking up).

I mean, during sleep pretty much everybody tosses and turns a little, right? Can you wake up and realize that your body is fidgeting around? Or is your body perfectly still as you wake up "inside of it"?

I ask because I often don't realize I'm awake until I feel my body moving. I've been told that waking up and not moving your body from the position you wake up in is a good spot to be in if you want to recall your dreams, but I just never wake up that way. I was wondering if it's possible the other way around.

Oh I see. I need to train myself to become aware a little earlier, I guess, if I want to remember dreams better.
