      Hey Everybody !

Hey, I'm new to this forum.

Two days ago I had a very exciting experiment. I had a dream, in wich I was in a beautiful field, with total control of myself, and a degree of realism beyond what I tought ever possible. When I woke up, I was so excited that I went on the internet and googled ''Real Dreams, Realist Dreams, Controlled Dreams'' and the likes for about 15 minutes when I came across this website and learned about lucidity.

The thing is, the dream I had barely lasted a few seconds, because as soon as I realised I was in a dream, I had to force myself to stay asleep because my eyes just wanted to open and I slowly woke up and started to see the light in my eyes and hear the sounds around my house...I was so mad !!! I wanted that dream to last a while..Can anyone give me tips to stay lucid in a dream for a longer period of time?

      Thanks alot !!

PS : I am french so please excuse any mistakes in english, it is not my mother tongue.

You speak better english than I do and I am a native speaker (i speak Armenian also)

Welcome to dreamviews. It is so good to hear that you found out about our site because you will really enjoy it here.

First of all I noticed that you tried to prolong your dreams. There is a section on dream control and tutorials on this site.

In order to prolong your lucid dream you want to yell out commands like "Slow Time", "Stay Lucid", or "Stay in this Dream", or "Stay Asleep".

To induce a lucid dream you would want to try out MILD, or WBTB. I will pm you with a link to an induction cd that you can get.

Remember that you will have more lucid dreams now that you had ur first one. You will definitely have more.

One of the dream guides should guide you further as to how to proceed with the adoption program. But, in short, if you are here 2 or more weeks then you can participate in the adoption program and be adoped by a regular member who will show you around.

I hope that you have lots of questions and I will be happy to guide you futher.

Make sure to use the chat line so you can get instant feedback. A warning, it can get messy and people have been known to be crazy in there. Including myself.

Welcome and look forward to hearing you soon.

      Stay Lucid!!

I don't have all the answers so you should wait until someone more experienced comes around.
Until then I can tell you that it's not unusual to wake up as soon as you're realizing that you're dreaming, especially since this was the first lucid you had.

I woke up just seconds after my first lucid dream, it could be just 'cause of excitement or something so you don't have to worry.

It's going to go way better after some time so don't give up
      hey

REMEMBER TO STAY CALM. MOST IMPORTANT. LET GO AND USE THE POWER OF THE MIND TO MANIFEST YOUR DESIRES.

      Thanks for your reply,
My english might be better than I tought after all

As for prolonging my lucid dreams. I need to tell you that this is not the first dream that I have where I have some sort of control, but this was the one that was the most realist, and made me want to have more..Everytime I have a lucid dream tough, it lasts between 10 seconds to 1 minute before I wake up.

I have a second question, what is the longest time you guys were in a lucid dream for..Like, could you stay in a lucid dream for 2 hours and I mean real time ..Cause it would be cool to have really long lucid dreams..

      Thanks again!

      Guillaume

Some members claim to have had LDs that seem to last for weeks -- or longer (obviously not in real-time, though). Personally, I don't believe I've ever had one last more than about 15-20 minutes, but you can accomplish a lot in that time, if you can just remember what you want to do.

Like Lucid83 said, yelling out loud actually helps a lot. One time I felt myself waking up, which simultaneously made me go lucid and struggle to stay asleep, so I started muttering under my [dream ego's] breath, "Stay asleep, stay asleep" and I guess I did, because I was able to goof off in the dream for awhile longer. That was one of the best lucid dreams I ever had, by the way.

      Strangers passing in the street
By chance two separate glances meet
And I am you and what I see is me.

I heard that a man had a dream that last 100 years when in real time passed had been 2 hours

what he did was he looked at a clock and said "stop time!" or something....

don’t know if its true ill try to find the site (I think it was the lucid crossroads)

100 Years, god if that's true, it would actually be scary and probably not really healthy..for your mental.

EDIT : Oh and by the way a little update on my experiments.

Yesterday night I had a dream where I was with a girl I like alot and at some point we climbed some sort of metal structure. The only thing I somehow managed to do was reach for another bar. My mind wanted to reach the lower one and I grabbed the higher one. At that point I woke up. Duh
