Exclamation Odd Occurrence - Clarity/help wanted

      Okay I'll make it quick,

I've never really deliberately tried to lucid dream. Sure, I've read dozens of articles online about tips and tricks to lucid dream but I never really thoroughly practiced them.

I haven't lucid dreamed, that i can remember, since I was a young boy. It was in the middle of a nightmare where I was being chased. I suddenly become aware that I was dreaming and then instantly I woke up. I was quite astonished.

A week or so ago, I was in the middle of a dream walking through a marketplace and again, out of nowhere, I realized I was dreaming! Here comes the odd part - No matter how hard I tried I could not control my dream and eventually out of anxiety, I woke up.

This isn't the first time it's happened though, only the first time in a dream.

I used to play lots and lots of Tetris and became really good at it. I don't know if you've ever been addicted to Tetris but it begins to play in your head throughout the day (wether you want it to or not.) Sometimes when I was bored, I'd call up the game in my head and begin to try out different scenarios. I'd try to move the pieces over but they wouldn't
go! Keep in mind this is in my own f****** head!!!! I knew I would've easily been able to execute the maneuver on a computer screen but somehow, my brain refused!

      2 questions:

1 - Why did I randomly begin to lucid dream only twice in my life? I remember 3 dreams a week, on average, and they are never lucid!

2- Why does my imagination and dream refuse to do what I want? I have a creative imagination and don't have problems envisioning crazy things.

      Hope you can help!

You have to have 100% belief that you can control your imagination/dreams. Any self-doubt will cause problems...

Everyone can seriously. I have a friend at school that says he cant, and I know for a fact that he wont ever be able to lucid dream if he keeps thinking that. You just have to think you can because, thinking you cant wont get you anywhere.
