      Scary lucid nightmare...Slightly graphic

YOU PROBABLY DON'T WANT TO READ THIS IF YOU'RE EASILY DISTURBED OR WILL THROW UP AT THE MENTION OF NON-PG13 TOPICS!

I'm stuck in this dark room, and there's a chair. I'm totally lucid: I know I'm dreaming, I can force myself to walk around, do things, look in particular at things. So, you know, I walk over to the chair. I'm curious, you know? And just as I start to get there I hear this voice and I'm in pain, horrible pain, all the sudden. At this moment, I'm freaking the Hell out. I'm like "Wake up, wake up!" I'm blinking, I'm trying to flex my toes, I'm trying to do everything wake up, but it's not working, and I couldn't really change the scenario for some reason. The non-corporeal voice started jeering at me for not being able to wake up and this goes on for a while. The pain would let up sometimes, and I'd run around trying to get out, but I never even got close. After a while, the voice took a really shadowy human-like whose only definite feature was red eyes. Class 1 nasty villian, lemme tell ya. Sometimes the figure just sat on the chair laughing, or it was standing over me really creepy-like. Srslyliekpedobearstyle.
My dreams last a good while, so this was not fun. Does anyone have any idea what just happened there? Is that my conscience getting uber-pissed at me for something I can't remember? Is that just a rogue lucid nightmare?
If you guys have had any of these, be sure to post 'em, and if you figured out how to make sure they don't happen again.....You'll be my personal savior.

That was one hell of a disclaimer!!

I think it could have been a rogue lucid nightmare. I get maybe one like that per year I think? Mine aren't nearly as long as yours though, so they usually end before I have to concern myself over the dream control (or waking up). I have heard of others having similar experiences, and there's a common thing that they all do to help with these negative lucid DCs. Some of them occur in the transitions to lucid dreams, and some of the nasty beasts haunt the lucid dream itself, like you experienced. Anyway, one thing that works a lot (and worked for me when I was struggling with what I called my DEILD Demons), is fighting evil with kindness. Sounds nutty, but your emotions drive your dreams a lot, so more fear, anger or panic will manifest itself even more in the DC that is harming you, since it all comes from your own brain anyway. So what I did was talk to the evil presence in a calm way, asking what his name was, how to spell it, what he likes to do on the weekends, be creative. Since you're stuck there anyway lol. One member even gave his nightmare a hug! Quite often, this causes the entity to lose it's power. Mine would shrivel into something small and harmless like a little child or a puppy.

Anyway, try that the next time and please let us know what happens! I find it really interesting when folks play with their emotions in LDs, and seeing how this can drive the environment, characters, and storyline.

Thanks for the ProTip, Ophelia, but I get the feeling it might be hard to hold a casual conversation when I'm blind with agony. I'll be sure to post if we have a make-up session and go get some snapping turtle stew one night though, non-scout's honor!
Most villains are scared little children in the end, anyhow, so that makes complete sense.

Heheh. I like my disclaimer too, but I was a bit afraid that might not do the job. You know, rainbow letters, alternating sizes, random symbols and lots of emoticons tend to work the best. That's not even the largest size. I did exaggerate a lil' bit, but some people retch at the slightest hint of distasteful occurrences as I intimately learned in a middle school lunch hall.

Ahhh yeah, forgot about the pain part. I've had some pain in LDs and I was able to just kinda walk it off. I'll have to ask around about that.

That was scary ya know! Cases where i'm trying to escape from the evils in a lucid dream and i'm finding it difficult normally happen because the dream is too deep. . .The moment i wake up temporarily, it's like the evil presence is still there and i've not been able to adjust to the real world. If i don't cast the dream aside, i'll fall asleep immediately, the exact lucid dream continues, and whatever was chasing me catches up with me. So i try my best to keep my eyes open and attach my consciousness to the real world in order to wake up. That's how mine happens.

OpheliaBlue, gave you some very good advice, the positive will always win against the negative especially in dreams, interesting i have had similar experiences, they resemble shadow beings/the hat man, i never seen them with the red eyes though, but others have.
