      No LD's in awhile

Hmm.. since successfully completing August's Lucid Task I haven't had any LDs yet.

I was so close though... but things around me kept waking me up!! Like babies crying.. the drums from the Chinese Opera.. stupid drivers who keep honking outside and the screech of tires!!

I pretty much recall all my dreams... but wasn't able to become lucid!

      Just wanted to share...

PS: 61 point technique i read in one of the tutorials rock!! i mean it works for me! but most times i only manage to go halfway through and fall asleep!! but once i actually started seeing images! and almost went lucid when i got woken up!

You seem to be agitated, nervous and worried. A great deal of noise can be incorporated into dreams without having to wake up because of it. Noise even during Meditation is not necessarily a problem, since the Meditator can effectively cancel out the Noise simply by shifting his attention to it. It is one of those Paradoxes of Meditation that the mind tend to wonder away from objects of its focus. Meditators continuously complain that they cannot stay 'One Pointed'... well, this very problem can be turned to one's advantage. If one cannot consistently concentrate on things, then one should make an effort to concentrate on things that one would prefer to ignore, thus taking advantage of one's own inability to stay focussed. Its a paradox, but it works. Meditate on your 'distractions' and they will cease to be distractions.

It depends to what extent we can isolate our minds to stay pure in the field of many distractions during meditation.

I recently started to meditate and commune specifically with less noise, with less music blaring while driving, less media, it led me deeper into my thoughts and feelings in an honest way.
naturals are what we call people who did all the right things accidentally

it is true that it works better in theory then in practice, to be able to cancel out one's distractions by deliberately focussing on them.

And it is true that while one may be able to submerge oneself into one's 'distractions', still that would defeat any focus one had previously intended to enjoy. One can hardly set up any suggestions or affirmations regarding Lucid Dreaming while one is melding one's mind into the squeaks, clangings and whistles of a Chinese Opera next door.

      Try sleeping with a fan.

Noises sometimes wake me up, but they don't have to. I recently had a dream where I was flying over a river and I heard the dogs next door barking. I simply acknowledged that they were barking instead of trying to ignore it, which may have been what kept me dreaming for much longer. Trying to ignore distractions can sometimes be a distraction.
Never stop searching for truth. In your search you may think you have found it, and perhaps you have, but if you hold on tightly to a single thread it will fray and it's greater meaning will become lost. There is always more truth stretching deep beneath the surface that promises to reveal ever greater the infinite, interwoven fabric of truth, woven in the looms of Heaven.
