      create-a-lucid

I had a strange experience last night where i actually created a lucid dream... heres how i did it:

i woke up about 6 hrs after going to bed, i then stayed up for 40 minutes and layed down and meditated for a short ammount of time (about 5-10 minutes) i was then in a state where i could easily make up scenerios in my head and put myself there (like daydreaming eccept a whole lot more vivid) i then put myself into a scene inside my workplace, the rest came together4 like any normal dream, the people, the plot etc.... i was then in that scene eccept i was only in it with my mind (i had no body, i could still feel mine in real life) i then started moving around in my bodiless state and began conciously putting feelings of what it would be like doing so into the dream/ daydream, after about 5 minutes of trial and error i finally got my dream body to fully appear and i had entered a lucid dream it lasted for a litte while and i ran around and stuff, it wasnt very stable whatsoever, im guessing this is because i didnt keep trying to make it stable before i started running around (i had control of walking and running and stuff but i couldnt manifest anything without losing the dream, also i had to hold my nose and breathe the entire time to keep my dream body ) in sure that if i tried i could get good at this meathod and be able to do it at will, it was extrememly simple and easier than WILD, im going to look into this meathod more and post results.

i was wondering if any of you have had this type of experience, and if so was the LD stable or what?

Hmmm... this type of thing can sometimes happen to me as i'm trying to fall asleep (after sleeping for the night). I've never actually tried to mediate, I just try to fall asleep and focus on what I may start dreaming of. At the same time I try to remain conscious that I'm slipping into a dream state. If i succeed, the LD is generally more stable than a DILD. I have never not had my dream body however, and it always occurs in the first person. I have however had half ass control over my real body as sleep paralysis seems to be "half" there.

This seems to have happened to several people recently, as read in other posts ... myself included. Is something going on? I could never do this before, and never heard of it being mentioned in WILD techniques before. WTF?

      very interesting

what kind of meditation did you do before this ? can you please tell us more about it.

also, when you tried to put yourself into a scenario, did you create every detail in your mind ?? or only basic ideas ?

      thanks,
      jon

the meditation was exactly what you would normally do for a WILD, I just focused on my breathing for about 10 minutes until I could easily manipulate objects and scenes in my head, I then just made a place (by easily manipulate I mean I could easily just think of something and I could keep it in my "minds eye" for a prolonged period of time)

well I could have put specific things in before it became first person (I began creating it when it was still just like if you imagined being in a car riding down the road right now...) I put myself into a selected environment and then the strangest feeling happened... it was like my mind was creating an entire scenario for that location, I began to see characters that I had not created consciously, I did however, make my self have superman’s powers () I did this fully consciously and I just let the rest of the dream come to me... I then found myself slowly going into that environment, I was first disembodied floating around with no feeling of walking or anything, I then began to consciously "create" the feeling of walking, I was still not in SP however which made this take some time, but eventually I did get into the dream body.
So to answer your question… yes I guess I could have made every detail of it if I had wanted to but it would have been very hard to do, it was more of me creating a baseline for my subconscious to go by and then I could make things appear after that if I had wanted to….

I don't know, but when I tried to do the Lucid Task the other night I kind of forced myself into a dream without even WILD'ing! It was soooo crazy, cause I hadn't been asleep all night, i was just chillin in my room watching the news, then I started to doze off...you know how you get those muscle spasms, well in my head I knew what was going on, so often I get the sensation that I am walking along and then suddenly fall...so consciously, I told myself when I felt the falling sensation I would "fall" into a dream, and it worked!!! It was SO crazy, cause I totally knew I was lying in my bed at my aunts and suddenly I was a black mass floating above my bed at my parents house. I LD'd for less than 10 minutes before waking up though. The envorionment I had created around me was really vivid, just like my room at home, good replica, except for the 26 bongs on the table, lol. But anyway...My body WOULD NOT take shape! I was a large black mass of particles, finally I had hands and a head though, but it was soooo odd!!! That's never happened to me before, I usually have a dream body! That and the way I started to LD was just crazy....

yeah sounds like mine.... the lump of mass thing at least, how sleepy were you when you did that technique thing? and had you drank any caffine or something before doing it (i realize it was a spur of the moment thing but just wondering)
