Finally had my first Lucid Dream!

So I finally had my first lucid dream the other night. I was talking to some dream characters and I said to myself that I was dreaming. Then the scene changed and I was in a park/playground, the ones that are made of wood and there's platforms leading up to a slide. Anyways, it felt really weird because I could barely feel myself and so I went to the platforms and started lifting myself up, just to see if I could feel it. I gave up and decided I was going to fly. I jumped up in the air and started to fly but as I continued, I slowly started to go back down to the ground. So, when I landed, I jumped again trying to fly, I said to myself that I would stay in the air. It worked, but I was flying very very slowly. So, I landed and said, I will go high and fast and I started to fly. Then it was starting to turn night in my dream and I saw the stars and got excited and thought I'm going to fly to Neverland. As I was flying, aiming for the second star to the right, my dream faded to black and I woke up.

The really really weird part was not the fact I was lucid dreaming, but I don't think it was a real lucid lucid dream. Because what I did in my dream, while I would have done them eventually, I hadn't really planned to do the first time I dreamed. So I don't think I was fully in control of myself. But still, it's progress and I hope I do it soon again! ^_^

      Congratulations, chiarra!

If you understood it was a dream, then you were lucid.
The fact that you had slight problems flying doesn't matter, dream control is not the same thing as lucidity, although of course being able to control the dream can be considered a higher level of lucidity.
The reason why you kept going down to the ground while you were flying is no doubt because you are not used to flying in waking life, so it is a weird experience that can be hard to grasp, since you expect some form of gravity to pull you down.
This is something you simply need to practice until you nail it!

When you did things you had never planned beforehand, there is a possibility that you lost lucidity and started doing random things without really having any concrete plans.
That's great too, keep in mind that you don't necessarily have to be lucid, the thing that truly matters is that you are having a great time.

Well, you see the thing is that from the moment the lucid dream thing started I was doing things I didn't really plan lol. Like I don't think I would have really gone to pull myself up on those platforms but then again my dream mind might think a bit differently than my waking mind. But I don't really think that matters as much as the fact I was lucid and that was just proof to myself I can go lucid ^_^. So, that was pretty much inspiration to try and become lucid more lol. Speaking of, goodnight. It's 4:30 for me and I'm finally done studying for my test tomorrow lol. I deserve some much needed sleep.

Haha wow, yeah that's right, you pretty much live on the other side of the Earth, it's 11:20 AM in my country right now.

When you are lucid in a dream you usually aren't as clear-headed as in waking life, and you can often forget details from waking life and your thinking might not be very logical - for example, you might assume that dream characters are real people.
But this is completely natural, and with practice you will have more control of your decisions.

      Good night.

Congratulations Chiarra! I quite often forget about my lucid goals when im having a lucid dream. There's often something going on, as i realise im dreaming, that i just tend to interact with to keep things interesting and different each time. Best of luck!

      Congrats on your first!
It was lucid for sure. As everyone said, it's not uncommon to not have clear memory in lucid when starting, but that will improve with practice. Also i strongly recommend making goal list and reading it few times per day and also before going to sleep. Mantras can also help to remember goals.

Congrats and for staying in for a while, most peoples first lucid only last up to 20 seconds (including mine) so for yours to be quite long first time is something!
Penny: So what do you say Sheldon, are we your X-men?
Sheldon: No, the X-men were named for the X in Charles Xavier. Since I am Sheldon Cooper, you will be, my C-men.

^_^ I will make the goal list and do you guys have any suggestions for mantras that work? And I was actually quite surprised too that it lasted so long lol. Though it did feel short to me lol. Anyways, I was surprised because I kept hearing you will wake up when you realize you're dreaming for the first time almost immediately because you get so excited. But for me, I didn't have to keep calm really, I just stayed calm. I think because I was more focused on the fact I could barely feel my body and that was a weird feeling, especially when I was able to move it normally. So, I think that's what actually helped me stay lucid lol. Still a bit disappointed I didn't get to go all the way to Neverland though lol.

Mantra can be anything as long as its meaningful for you. For example "I will remember my goals in dream".
