Bullet Time

I'm dreaming, but I'm not lucid. I approach a tall chainlink fence topped with barbed wire about 10 feet high and I think to myself, "I can jump over that". So I psych myself up and keep thinking, "c'mon go for it" but I slowly realise that there is simply no way I can possibly do this, it simply defies physics.

I try to rationalise the situation and wonder why I would think of jumping this fence in the first place, I'm smarter than this surely, yet I'm convinced I can do it. To hell with it, so I prep myself up again, but I'm more anxious this time, theres more doubt in my mind. The anxiety builds until I get quite uncomfortable then suddenly it hits me- the only time I've ever jumped like this is in dreams, I'm dreaming!

Jumping the fence no longer interests me as I'm simply in awe at how real everything is. I bend over and pluck some grass from the ground and I'm simply amazed at how real it feels. I wonder about what I can do, how I can control the dream, but while I'm thinking I notice some guys causing trouble at the roadside. Three men (who are all identical, and look like one of my best friends, Paul) are threatening a woman (Paul would never do such a thing by the way). Anyway, I realise that none of these "clones" are actually Paul(s) so I make the decision to kick some ass. Turns out I know martial arts and can also slow time, leading to some absolute killer flying kicks and various acrobatics. Unfortunately for them, they had no such powers and were easily (in breathtaking super slow-mo) defeated.

Now I thought I could get on with the business of doing something I really wanted to do, but woke up- what a dissapointment.

I've had only a handful of lucid dreams over the past few years that I can remember, but this has been the most vivid to date, and I had another LD immediately on falling back to sleep after the one described. Never before have I had such control in a LD, it was thoroughly exhilarating.

Cheers Kyros, I hope I can achieve similar results soon, hopefully tonight. I've come to realise that the "jump" is one of my frequent dreamsigns, so i've been jumping around alot recently in the hope that this action will manifest itself in my dreams. Such jumping around the house makes me feel like a kid again, it's great, highly recommended.

for some reason i just wouldn't feel.... sane jumping around the house. not that it matters since dream signs never work for me i just spontaneously snap into lucidity.

Don't worry, I am insane, so it's my prerogative to jump around. But just so you know, last night I didn't LD, but I did have rather strange NLD's. They were not like the usual dreams I have of people and places, they comprised wholly of abstract shapes, forms and colours, clearly the result of spending copious amounts of time using the Chaoscope software I discovered- which can be found here if you're interested in generating 3D fractals.

I used to just snap into lucid dreams too, but only very rarely; I find that dreamsigns are a more reliable method for me.

Gotta love kicking ass in bullet time eh?

I've had 2 lucids this past week dealing with Jet-Li. He's my all time favorite kung-fu master. It was interesting. I had a dream where I was lucid, walked through door and walked into a dojo. There was a woman there that looked like an assistant or someone that might have worked there. There were also a bunch of students... and I was one of them. Jet-Li walked into the room and set us up to spar with each-other. It turns out I'm a really nasty martial artist in my dreams and took down all the students, only one of them (my friend andrew) gave me any trouble.

That was the first night.

The next night I walked through the same doorway while lucid again and walked into the same dojo. This time it was really dark in there so I spawned a bunch of lights on the ceiling and a bunch of light switches on the wall. I flicked them all on and like 20% of the lights came on. Not exactly the effect I wanted but it did brighten the room. So then i realized that the shades over the windows were down. I opened them up and the room was satisfactorily bright like the first dream.

This time however I got to spar with Jet-Li. As good as i was in my dreams, I still got my ass kicked. I probably lasted a couple minutes with him where I was getting some nasty kicks, punches and blocks in. Then he punched me in the neck. Well that was the end of it. No matter how hard I tried, I could tell he was still going to whoop my ass pretty good. Anyways. Was a fun dream. Alot of the fighting was in slow motion allowing me to plan out my next course of action. Lots of fun.

I had a nld a couple nights ago where I literaly was Jet Li. Twas really cool: I was like running from a bunch of secret agent guys. For some reason I was in New orleans.
