      Yay! Finally.

I have no idea what happened. I woke up at 6 in the morning, went back to sleep at about 7:00am, woke up at about 7:35am.

The dream was nothing special. I don't think it's important that I include the dream itself here (I don't have much time to type). I'll post the full version in my dream journal when I have time.

It was towards the end of the dream. All of a sudden, I realized I could think about anything I wanted. My vision got very clear, and the sound was almost perfect. The only thing that I can remember lacking now that I look back on it is the sense of touch. When someone touched me or when I touched something, I didn't feel anything. There was only vision and sound.

At first, all I could think was "It's real! Hey, I'm dreaming and I know it. I can see everything. About friggin time. The crystals helped. Where -are- the crystals right now?"

Then, when the first rush of thought was over, I noticed that I wasn't moving. I tried to step forward. Then I became aware of my body. My real body, that is. I could feel myself laying in bed with my left hand folded under me. At the same time, I was still fully aware of the dream. As soon as I tried to move, I felt my left wrist move under me (the wrist of my real body), almost twitching. I stopped trying to move for fear of being pulled out of the dream. Eventually, the dream progressed on its own and I moved automatically.

The point of view kept changing. I either saw the dream through my own eyes or saw it as a movie playing out in front of me, my 'character' moving around. The dream never lost its clarity.

The dream didn't last long after that. Only a few events happened, but it seemed like a long time. Maybe it's because I was thinking and aware of the dream at that time. Countless thoughts passed through my mind, so maybe that's why I felt as if the dream lasted for some time.

When I was waking up, it felt...calmer...than it usually does when I awake. I just kind of felt my focus/consciousness/whatever.. slip back into my body. Usually when I wake up, I get this jolt of being ripped out of the dream. This time it was smooth and I almost didn't notice the transaction.

The thing that frustrates me is that now that I look back, it seems like just a regular dream, not a lucid dream. If I hadn't picked up my notebook and recorded what happened right after I woke up, when the feeling was still fresh, I would've forgotten all about it by now and considered it to be just another average dream.

      -----
Uh there was another dream about an hour after that one (I went to bed at 3am last night, so I was sleepy this morning). It felt as if I became lucid in that one just when I was waking up.
      -----

Now, for all those who saw me mention crystals and are curious/bored enough to still wonder about what I meant, here's an explanation:

I'm Wiccan and I finally found two stores for wiccans, witches, people who practice psionics, etc., in Fremantle. I bought some crystals from the store. Most of them centered around dreams. I decided to start off with getting to know just two of the crystals for now, so I programmed a Kyanite crystal to help me remember my dreams, and a Fluorite crystal to help me achieve lucidity. I noticed that since I started using the crystals and keeping them close to me when I slept, my dream recall improved and I could remember more details in my dreams.

Anyway, for those of you who want a few more details about these 2 crystals, here are their descriptions:

      Kyanite
      Chakra: Crown, Third Eye, Throat.
      Astrological Sign: Taurus, Libra, Aries.
Stimulates communication and psychic awareness. Balances yin-yang energies. Automatically aligns all the chakras. Calming and tranquilising. Promotes clarity - assists in dispelling conusion in emotional, spiritual, and intellectual issues. Transforms negative thought patterns. Good for enhancing sleep and for dream recall and understanding. Excellent for meditation - helps to relax and clear the mind. Does not accumulate or retain negatie energies - never needs clearing or cleaning.

      Fluorite
      -Focus-
Promotes intuition, understanding, and comprehension. Heps to bring order to chaos, promoting stability. Good stone for teeth and bones. Good for balancing, relating to the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual self. A stone for the 3rd eye, allowing the rational use of information received intuitively.

I've had the same thing after my LDs... Thinking back they seem like regular non-lucid dreams. That is quite disturbing. You know you had control and stuff but it keeps bugging your mind... "did I?"

Yup yup, makes me wonder how many lucid dreams I've had before, if it's that easy for me to forget that they're lucid.

Yeah, but now that you know they're lucid and what can be done in them, you should start to recognize them alot easier...

So what if its a placebo? If it is or isn't, it seems to be helping with her lucid dreaming. Placebo is always thrown around when someone doesn't want to take the time to investigate something not of their own belief set. Anyway, I don't think I've read anyone on here using crystals for lucid dreamwork - Lizaveta, keep us posted on how well they work for you..

Its funny how quickly some people scoff at the mention of crystals .. heck, science until recently has been entirely skeptical that lucid dreaming even existed - and people have been doing it for thousands of years. And need I remind you about the flat-Earthers?

O....k...? I really didn't post this to try to make you believe in something that you haven't believed before. I'd just appreciate it if you at least took some time to research what I'm talking about before discarding it completely. I don't know, maybe you do know some actual facts about witchcraft and its tools, but I assume that if you did, you'd have more to say about your opinions about it than the word 'loony'.

As for crystals being a placebo, maybe they are. Nobody really has any scientific proof either way. Then again, science can't explain everything, at least not right now.

it might be that you beleive that they will work so your brain is like 'i will have a lucid dream because i got these crystals' so then it has a lucid dream lol. or maybe they actually work never tried it before.

Um...yeah, that's kinda what a placebo is. I don't believe it's that, but it very well could be. Either way, it works.

So you have tried these things and found out that they actually don't work then?
      If not, stop being judgemental.

I'm actually quite interested in this sort of stuff. I've often felt like something has been helping me in my life. I can remember when i crashed my car and while i was rolling around inside it, into a bank, thinking, "This is kinda strange, I'm crashing my Dad's car. Damn, he won't be pleased" But I never felt like I was going to get hurt. When it came to going to court for 'Careless driving', the prosecutor was so late turning up that they turned the case over to the JP, who was a friend of my Mum's, and I got off without anything bad happening.

I know this is kinda an aside from using crystals, but I have a feeling that they're related in some sort of abstract way.

Liza, I've looked up a bit about wicca and was interested to know if you knew of any others in Aussie (or the states). I was just wondering if there would be many here (New Zealand), because I was going to look for some crystals too.

      Cheers,

      Glor.

I'm assuming you're talking about people who practice wicca? I had quite a few wiccan friends in the U.S. As for Australia, I haven't been here long enough to know for sure, but I know that there's a church of Wicca close to Perth and Fremantle, so I'm assuming there's more in other parts of Australia as well.

No prob. Oh, just so you know, wicca and witchcraft aren't the same things. Lots of people get them confused. Wicca is a religion; a lot of wiccans practice witchcraft (me not really being one of them), but a person doesn't have to be wiccan to do it.

      Wow!!! Cool.

Like I said I would I bought an amethyst stone (not sure whether to call it a crystal, gem, etc.) from TradeMe and received it today, with the intention of using it to help with recall and lucidity. I accidentaly fell asleep a few hours after getting it (damn!, should have been studying. Damn!!!, should be studying now) And, what do you know, I had a Lucid Dream!.

I got quite a bit done considering the fact that my lucidity wasn't as high as I'd hoped it would be, but just thought I'd post what happened here because it was the first time I had fallen asleep holding the stone. I also woke up with the stone still in my hand, which was fairly tightly clutched around it.

So, it definately worked for me. Thanks for the information,

      Glor
