      Total Lucidity?

Two nights ago, I had a really cool lucid experience. The whole dream was lucid from the start, and very vivid. However, like in many people's lucid dreams, and all of the ones I've had so far, your dream seems to still exert a degree of control on your mind. I was running through the dream for about an hour, no signs that it was going to the end. Somehow, though, at the end, my mind 'woke up' from within the dream, and I was more lucid that I ever was before!

My mind was completely free, it was as if I woke up from my dream and was sitting in my bed. I was still in the dreamworld, though, and realized that I was going to wake up soon. About 10 seconds later, I woke up, but not before my mind had a revelation. I thought that dreams don't end when you become lucid, they just end when you expect them to.
      DOH!

That makes sense to me. Beginners will expect their lucid dreams to be short because they are new at it so maybe that makes them short, so maybe if you are really confident about it you can make them last longer.

I'm also wondering if anyone else had lucidity like I had at the end of that dram. Very cool.

I had total lucidity like that once when I was little, i realized that i was dreaming and i flew around. Ive had two lucid dreams in the past couple weeks, but they were really uneventful and didnt last long. But when I was flying, It felt so real and I was in complete control, and I woke up thinking I could fly. Good thing that thought didnt last long.
Why does the eye see more clearly in dreams than the imagination when awake?

Yeah, I have had a few lucid dreams where I felt very much in control, but most of the time I just end up walking around and watching objects and people, knowing damn well that I am somehow making them appear, but still very much absorbed in the act of watching their fluid surfaces flowing in and out of dream existence.

I've had complete lucidity in 2 out of my 3 LDs (atleast since hearing about DVs). I thought complete lucidity is how it's supposed to be in an LD and that the ones without it were just bad LD examples........

I have had lucidity like you had in the end.
It felt like i had a huge fan in the head, colling it down!
I could think as clear as in the real world!
However, i woke up at that point as well.
