      Dream - images and thoughts

I guess most of you have heard the saying - "Our thoughts shape our World" and this goes very well for the normal physical world as well as dreams.
But what if there were no thoughts? Wouldn't our reality then be created?
This idea came to me in a lucid dream when suddenly I seized to see the dream as pictures, but just thoughts. It felt sort of like a day-dream when the mind starts to create events and characters but you actually don't see them the way you see in the waking life...
"The Matrix" kind of shows the same thing - once You become aware that You're living in an illusion, You begin to see the System as numbers - in dreams, You begin to see the world as thoughts.
      Just some thoughts.

I think you are thinking of conceptual thought.
I have known the concept of conceptual thought for years but have never explained it to anyone simply because of the complexity of its essense - it takes too long to explain and ironically it would be simpler than anything to relay it if we communicated via conceptual thought rather than oral/written speech.

"A while ago, however, I found the following article, which, in some aspects, explains what conceptual thought is rather well"...that is what I was going to write hoping to find the article I mentioned but it seems it has slipped my mind and the database I remembered it to be in.

Thus, to put it shortly: "conceptual thought is the deepest level of one's mind. It is on a level that your subconscious mind can understand easily. To utilize it one is to think in concepts, in ideas, that are devoid of words or images. This is a skill that takes time and practice to master."

Ah, about the dreaming concept. Must have forgotten to add.

I must disagree. I believe that dreams are strictly conceptual thought.
The simplest explanation being that we don't literally see anything since our eyes are closed and the insides of our eye lids consist merely of organic tissue.

Conceptual thought relays concepts as a description, thus, we remember dreams described for all our senses: sight, sound, etc.
When we focus on the dreams we recall we reconstruct them for all our senses, that is my deduction made from personal experience.

DUH! How could I forget about that? You are right. I take my previous post back. It is all conceptual thought
